front air dam.

Hi all! I'm new here.

I have a white '96 GT 'vert & love the Roush air dam.

My car sits pretty low though.
Has anyone ever attached the dams with DZUS fasteners so it is removable?

My ride:

I'm hoping someone answers my dam question

Thanks Shay! Your car & the rest of those Roushes here are KILLER!

I've just finished finally giving the car a dose of power...

Now it's time to spiff up the outside.

I almost need a 4x4 to not scrape all over town where I live

You will need either PI heads or get your stock heads ported to match the larger square ports of the PI head.
There is modification required on the fuel rail connection pipe at the back of the engine ( longer hose ).
I had to fabricate a DPFE bracket ( I did not try to buy the bullitt one )
There are a ton of small parts required brackets & gaskets but the modifications shown above are the only ones really different from a '99 bullitt intake install.

The hood blanket is VERY close to the intake, a couple parts ( IAC etc ) touch the blanket, I'm considering a new hood.

Pics of my headswap & intake install are here:

Fotki is a russian word?

I just found it to be a really convenient pay one price image hosting site with no storage limit.

Does the air dam usually connect with tape or screws?

If it screws on, does anyone have pics?

Gotta Love that Roush front end on a white car

Do you think it would pull away or not look as nice without the tape?

Maybe I will just have to fork out, buy a pair, see how it goes.

it won't look horrible without the tape, but still be sagging... i hit the bump and it is now loose on the driver side - can hardly see from far...but still can see from up close...why do you want to be able to take it out ?

The roads here suck, I scrape my black plastic under the rad dam almost every day.

I'd like to be able to take them out for my daily commute & put them in for cruise nights & club events & car shows.

How about substituting white velco strips where the ds tape normally is??

Hey OfficeGlen,
Im a fellow member of GTAMC. Your car is coming along Awesomely!! Did you do the heads swap on your own...or through a shop?
About the roush front valence, Mine are were held on by the sticky tape but they seemed be coming loose and saggy. So ford decided to put some "black glue stuff", I can't quite remember what it was but that seems to be holding them on quite well.
Basically the tape is holding the front end of the lip to your car so it appears flush with the front bumper cover.
But the velcro idea might work.

My buddy who is a car god & I did the headswap in his backyard garage.

I'm pretty sure I have seen your car out at one of our shows, that is when I knew I needed them on my car!

The velcro may work, or maybe I may have to find some way to stiffen or brace the bumper / valance area with a shaped bar on each side bolted together maybe, I will know wonce I get the pieces, DaSilvas is supposed to sell them, should get the Roush wing too & get them all painted at the same time

Thanks Marc!

Oh Yeah, Ron sure does a nice job, I was the first to ask for & get a pony, I sent him the autocad file for the CNC machine

I helped him out by giving him my old '00 windsor style covers to use to help making the cast covers in those ones too.

He is a super nice guy & is asking a very reasonable amount for those things considering. If there were more guys like him around we have have many more cool & affordable products for our cars.
