1st Time to the 1/4 Track with my S3
Well, I just had my first driving night at the 1/4 mile track tonight not only with my S3 01 #50, but actually the first time ever. I've had several other Mustangs, but I've always been chicken-sh*t to give it a shot. I feel like a virgin talking about my first f*ck, but here it goes and it's not too pretty.
60' 2.286 330 5.918 1/8 8.756 1000 11.148 1/4 13.158 @112.74 I think I've got the baldest 295/35's in the world so I kept spinning even into 3rd gear. I definitely know I need some new rear treads after tonight. I guess with some more practice, confidence, and tires I should be able to get into the mid-high 12's. Maybe not, but it sure was fun.

I feel all warm inside kind of like a h-school cheerleader after a f-ball game. It was fun until I got the doors blown off of me by a stang running 10.655 @ 128.11. I couldn't read the tag b/c of the chute. Ahh, I'll take 14" brakes any day though. At least I was the only S3 in Cecil Count, MD tonight.

Nice times.....get some slicks or Drag radials and watch those times drop.

Nice run man.
Only posted your fastest huh!!!! What was your 1/8 mph???? Trust me your tires arent the problem its the torque

Well, I wasn't going to post my slowest....it was my first time out.
Here's my 3 runs in order with 1/8 time / mph and 1/4 time / mph. Again, my rear tires are really, low on tread and kept spinning like a m/f. 1/8 8.934 9.237 8.756 mph 87.02 84.86 88.03 1/4 13.267 13.709 13.158 mph 112.35 111.59 112.74 Once I could get traction in 3rd gear she pulled really hard. I just lost too much time down low. My 1/8 times kind of validate that. I'll be getting some new tires soon, however I head from a local tire shop that BF doesn't make the 295/35's any more. I haven't researched any further b/c at the time I wasn't ready to get treads. Now I'm ready and I'll probably pick up another 18x9 rim and mount some DR's for the track (probably in the spring).

Markass - tks for the head's up on the tires. I think the shop I went to was a little drunk
 by the end of the day. Roush301 - I think there's an all day event on Nov 8th, that a bunch of us are planning on going. I'll PM ya if we go sooner or I'll send out a thread. Redgt2002 - Ya should have waited for the 04 Mach with the 5 more hp...you'll need it. Last night there were 4 or 5 Mach's there, but no white. You would have been special. lol.

I know you're in college or vocational school but here's a quick math lesson.
800 white 2003 Mach 1's is not greater than 176 2001 S3's. I'll leave color out of this one b/c it will be a complex multi-order expression with 3 variables and one idiot. lol jk. Sure come on over tomorrow night, tell the boys to give you a head start just in case you stall at a couple lights.......heeeeee.
