Dealing with dealerships is like...........

God I never want to deal with Ford service again. They suck for me.

OK, I took my car in for 3 things: starting problem, squeeky window, and creaking from suspension. When I got there I explained what the problems were. The guy said that the dealer would have to charge me for looking at the creaky suspension, because Roush has modified it. I told him its a Stage I and that they never touched the supsension. He went to talk to his service manager, and they both came back and told me its no longer a GT suspension, if I wanted work done, Roush would have to take care of it. Yeah, whatever.

I left figuring they would do nothing to the suspension. Anyways, at 6pm(I dropped the car off a 7am) I finally called them to see where the car was. He said they were unable to do ANYTHING because a): the suspension is Roushes problem(what idiots) b): they can't do anything to the starting problem, because I have a chip(Saleen Powerflash) So I called Saleen and of course the Powerflash is warrantied, they put it on every Saleen sold. So I had Saleen call the dealer, and they proceeded to argue with them that it isn't covered. Yeah, whatever.

Oh and then when I finally go to the dealer to get the car, they forgot to fix the window creak. Idiots. They had the car the whole day, and did NOTHING to it.

I have an appointment next week at Galpin Ford(where I bought the car) and am getting new IAC valves, fuel pump and regulator for the starting problem. THey are going to change the bushing to Polyurethane to hopefully stop the creak(and whatever else till its fixed) and are going to fix the window. Plus they are smart enough to know the Stage I is stock underneath, and warranty the Saleen parts. Sorry for the long rant.

I have often thought that most car dealerships should have a bar so you can get sullen before they smack you up. But then, I suppose they would have more beligerent customers.

Oh well.

How were you fortunate enough to

a) get a hold of somebody at Saleen

and

b) get them to call the dealer?

I guess it is because you are in CA that made things easier for them. Good luck with the fixes this week.

ahh crap i have a conv. hey i took mine in to th dealer for a couple thing, shimmy at 50, rear tire leak, rim is pealing, and a slight wining noise....3 days later nothing. they can't do nothing. i finally got them to get me a new rim from roush to be put on wed have a screw in sidewall of my rear tire they cant fix, so thats $350+ wining noise is normal...hum i don't have supercharger hows that. they wont fix shimmy until i get the rim and over all they have not gone out of their way to make me feel warm and fuzzy....shoulda bought a focus and got the same treatment.....problem with these cars being sent out and modified is who wants to pay for the fixing they can keep passing it back and forth....

I've made a few friends at the Saleen plant. When I first got my gears done, they sent me over to Saleen to recal it. Just started BSing the guy. I've gone back a few times to tour the S7 being built. They have a really sweet place.(although the Roush plant was sweet also, its just too far away to go to)

I have had bad experiences with some dealerships around here. I stick to the dealer that I purchased car from. and same service writer. He has always treated me and family well. Look the good ones are out there.

I had some great times @ the dealer. I love FORD!!!!!! When I bought the car it was pulling to the right, so I took it in and they gave me a set of Caster Camber Plates for free. About two months later my car was hit and once again they fixed it for free. You just gotta know how to talk to these people, understand them, realize that they work for FORD.
Peace

I have the same problem with my 2003 Stage 2. It is hard to start and the suspension squeeks, especially when its cold. Which it isn't very often in South Texas. I figured they would blame the starting problem on the larger fuel injectors for the supercharger. Haven't taken it in yet, but I think I know the response I'll get.

Sorry about the issues. I hate crap like that.

If that dealer is not a Roush dealer, they have a point with the suspension IF it was a Roush suspension. But, if you take it to an authorized Roush dealer and they give you that crap, drive the car right up their butts. That pisses me off when they try to pass the buck. It is their issue, and they need to deal with Roush on it. You shouldn't get inbetween.

Hopefully Galpin will hook you up.
