CAI on a V6 is supposedly better than on an 8....but realistically I would say about 5 RWHP....exhaust is hard to take opinions on b/c everyone likes something different...On my old 99 V6 I had a custom job with flowmaster 40's...true dual...and it sounded a little "toney" for me...now with the Roush side exhaust, there is no major power difference and it is not true dual...and the sound is 100000000000X better IMO.....

I went with Spintech mufflers and a custom piping job. They did a true dual exhaust. They sound excellent. I had some Dnoymax Super Turbos on for a while but the Spintech's are the best I have heard yet.

I've got a similar set up with Spin Tech's. I love 'em!

what mufflers did you have on your Roush when you got it?

I had the short mufflers...and they sound really good...

what size did you have installed? I have heard a lot about Spintech myself, but have never heard one....do you have a sound clip?

I picked up the mufflers from a guy on another board for $100.00. He was doing something else with his exhaust. I know the mufflers are about $120.00 a piece from Spintech. The custom piping cost me another $175.00. They are the in/out design on the same end like the Magnaflows that Roush uses. Horsepower gains ,I would assume, are the same as most other side exit mufflers. The sound though is totally different. It hard to tell a difference from a V8 at idle. Theyt are a little higher pitched than a V8 at WOT, but it sounds great. I was at the Roush Round-up in August, maybe someone else that was there could tell you how they sounded better than I could. I am a little biased with them.

Short.

It cost me $100 to have the catted x pipe made and all welded together. I forget the exact cost of the mufflers... I paid something like $120 each new?? I'll look when I get home. I bought them when I tore one of teh Maganflows off avoiding an SUV that came left of center at me one night.

The long tubes give better sound, but the stock V6 headers are pretty free flow...so the Hp isn't much if any at all. Agreed that at low RPM they sound the same as the 4.6.

Does any of your exhaust tips move back to the tires over time? I am so annoyed.

Mine haven't. Well, the side I banged in did after it hit the edge of the road, but I bent it back. No problems before or after that.

So the spintechs are better sounding than the Roush short mufflers...or did your X pipe really make the difference....I love the sound of my car...but would like it to have a little deeper rumble sound....Do you have any pics of your set-up?

I'm not sure what the diff is. I added them all at them same time. I'd guess it's the long tubes and X-pipe that really made the change. They sound almost the same as stock Roush, but pops a little between shifts. I don't have any pics. Next time it's up on jack stands, I'll get some for you.

With the long tubes and the X pipe did you have any major power gains over stock Roush side with shorties?

By any chance are you going to the 40th in Nashville? I would love to see/hear your set-up...

Maybe a few hp from the X-pipe. I'm told the LT's flow just as well as the stock headers. It's mostly the sound difference.
Probably won't be at Nashville. I never get outta work. It's not really a job where someone can take over for me for a few days. I'd love to go, though.
