gauges
Im lookin at some autometer gauges and i dont know which is better-mechanical or electric. Which would be easier to install and what are the advantages and disadvantages to both. I was thinkin about air/fuel, fuel pressure, and boost.

gauges - just went through this dilemna - I wasn't too sure which was more accurate, E vs. M - as far as I'm concerned, its a pissing contest.
I chose to go with as much mechanical gauging as possible to save the cash and to learn more when I installed them. However, as stated by mln, you can't mount a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in the cockpit (for moron reasons) so I had to go with the electrical fuel pressure gauge. As for my personal opinion as to which gauges are more accurate.... I think the mechanical guages are easier to read because they don't "kick" back and forth between readings like the electrical one (granted my fuel pressure spikes and only spans part of the gauge range) as opposed to the mechanical gauges which seem to "flow" because it's not based on a voltage reading, it mechanically reads your pressures and temperatures. Just my 0.02 cents. ~ Josh also for what its worth.... the pissing contest comment is my own opinion.... MOST people I talk to claim the mechanical gauges to be more accurate.

I went with electrical gauges because they're easier to install but if I remember correctly, mechanical gauges offer more resolution. Look at the sweep of an electrical gauge. It covers maybe 90 degrees. Mechanical guages I believe will sweep up to 270 degrees.
