Once the car has been purchased and titled sending it back to Roush for work is not an option.

The full Roush suspension is a pretty good value at ~$1900 IMO. It includes front and rear springs, struts, shocks,
rear lower control arms, frame connectors, sway bars, pinion snubber, offset rack bushings and hardware. It is a mod you can do yourself with a little help as well. You can easily piece it out if you don't want everything, or go with cheaper components from various companies. However, IMO, if you want something that is well-engineered for your car, the full suspension setup is a good way to go. All of the components are matched to be used together, and the combination nets pretty decent results. It won't be a race car, but it will get keep a smile on your face as you are spinning around town. If you are just looking at lowering, the lowering springs from Roush would be a good option, as they are only ~$230. If you want something a bit more drastic, you can look into MM or Griggs coilovers for all four corners. You won't have to change out the K-member, that is optional. It may take some experimentation with different spring rates to find the ride you are looking for, so be forwarned (BULLITT208 went through this). ð kev

What are you planning to do? What are your plans for the car? If I were doing it strictly for a streetcar/weekend warrior standpoint, get the MM grip in a Box package. Its all engineered to work with the other components in the package. Also, it is TOP quality and everything fits well. I have MM Lowers, stock uppers, tokico 5ways and roush srpings and pull low 1.7's-high 1.6s......Also look into 5link setups....Torque arm/panhard par....a PHB makes a HUGE difference in cornering

I was in this same situation. I wanted to go all Roush but the fundage just wouldn't let me. So I went to www.GEFRacing.com and picked up the Bullitt suspension for $300.00. What I got was, front and rear springs and Tokico struts and shocks. NIce ride, a little stiff but handles great. It dropped the car about 1"- 1 1/2". I ended up taking out the front spring isolators to get another 1/2" drop,( I used some belting material from work so I wouldn't have metal rubbing together). Check out this linkthe complete Bullitt suspension plus front and rear sway bars for $399.00, good deal.
Bullitt parts Jon Heres a pic of my car after the drop. |
