gauges,blower,tuner

I just installed my ATI P1sc 10psi 3 core intercooler kit and it runs very lean at the moment but that is with the stock injectors( have 42lb inj and Denso IT20's on the way). The car idles up and down and cuts out on the throttle. I was wonderin how exactly a air/fuel gauge works as far as how it is insalled. Also I live in an area where the closest dyno tuner is 5-6 hours away. I was wondering what you guys think about a mail order chip from like Fordchips or somethin like that.

any help would be great, thanks

Once you get it all sorted out, probably worth the trip to the dyno. Did ATI give you a chip with the blower? How do you know it is running lean w/o having the A/F checked? If you know this b/c you are hearing knocks, i would not drive it, or even run it until you get better fuel flow. . . . knock knock BOOM

ATI did supply me with a chip and they have even said in old posts that they do not work on Roush or Saleen computers so why they gave me it I have no idea. My stang could be experienceing spark blow out too, im just not sure. At idle the car will idle at normal rpms and then idle low and almost die. And at driving it will like stop and go, kind of hesitate. Jerks you back and forth. It has to be running cause I do not have the 42lb injectors but people have said it will run but it will not give the motor enough fuel at higher rpms or WOT. If anyone has any ideas or insight please reply.
Thanks

YOu definetly need to feed it more fuel--or Detonation is looming.

First off you have a stage II which has a stock ford ecu not a roush one. This means ati's chip or anyone elses will work.

Sounds to me like you have a mismatch between the maf and the injectors.

The maf that is on there what injectors is it for?

You are not trying to run that blower with the stock maf and injectors are you? If so do not try that it will most likely bow.

It has the stock MAF. ATI said it would work fine but coming from them who knows. I have thought about either getting a Pro-M Univer or just recalibrating my stock MAF. ATI gave me a chip that is tuned for the stock MAF with 42lb injectors.

You should get a new maf for the 42# injectors either a lightning maf or pro m. At 10 psi you will be maxing out the stock maf and stock injectors that is for sure. Also what are you doing about the fuel pumps.

The stock one isn't going to feed enough fuel to the 42# injectors.
You should have around 430 rwhp with that kit at 10psi on a good tune.

I installed the fuel pump with the kit, it is a Walbro pump and the flow is 255lph i believe. the closest dyno shop is Denver for me which is 6 hours away. Could my problem be a chip thing, like maybe in backwards or the contacts not clean enough. I used alcohol and a razor blade to clean it. Is there any way i could check if it is in right. Would the car not start without the chip or what could be some possibilites

Razor blade!! you didn't take all the gold off did you?
The car should run without the chip, however I would not drive it without it or a tune first.

Make sure the chip is properly seated wait for the 42# injectors then see how it works.

My guess is the ecu is maxing out the stock injectors.
Also double check all vacuum lines are plugged in and no leaks.

Now as far as vaccum lines are concernced. I connected my vacum line for the by pass valve at a the bavk of the engine bay on the passenger side of the engine. It already had a fitting their just the the T fitting ATI gave me with the kit but it was just a regular connector just to connect the two hoses. Is this a good spot. When i put the chip in the contacts on the service port were givin copper color shavings off it looked like.

Wait for the #42s. Take it to the dyno. A 12 hours ride is better than a blown engine
try to find someone near yu that has done a ATI- call procharger

GOOD LUCK

I don't understand this statement?

Are you saying you had copper strands falling out from the chip and or ecu?

If this is correct that is not good.Pull the chip back out do you have a good connection on the tabs?? There should be copper on the chip tabs and the ecu side should be in good shape as well.

If there is a loose or bad connection this could very well be your problem. As for the vacuum line it sounds okay.

The ecu contacts were a faint red color, in the manual it said not to shave off alot of the surface or it will screw it up. I am pretty sure it was giving off metal shavings, but the contacts looked like the protective film on them was a reddish color. I used alchohol to prep it with
