Diablo or no, that is the question..?
Hey fellas,
I have the money now to put on a chip. I have a stage 2, 2001 with cold air intake, underdrive pulleys (FMS) and offroad xpipes. Is the Diablo chip the way to go for the best bang for the buck? Also, I noticed researching Diablo on the web that there seem to be more than one Diablo chip. Which is the kind I need? And lastly, do share your stories of chips.... VVVRRRRROOOOOMM

Best Bang for your car now is LT Headers, perferably Mac Jet Hot Coated. The Header are cheap and I can get them Jet Hot Coated for $420 shipped unless he went up.Then just get the Mid pipe you already have cut and welded up to fit the Macs. Locally it cost around $300 for install, plus the $420 for the headers and maybe $50 to tie them in with the mid pipe. So for $775-800 you will get around 10-15rwhp and around 15ftlbs of tq. What is really nice is under the curve power LTs give you alot of torque down low. I have a Diablo chip in mine and I gained 30rwhp and 30rwtq,but my car is supercharged and was really out of tune after me foolin with it. Normally cars such as yours get 5-10rwhp and the same in rwtq. Get the Red Diablo Chip that has the ability to give you 4 different tunes and has a flip switch.Dont get a off the shelf one,go to someone that can put your car on a dyno and custom burn a tune for you. But I would only do the chip once I ran out of other things to do or you get Nitrous or a blower,JMHO.
