MAF Q and a pic

Ive heard the stock MAF's are crap for blow through applications. Is this true? How much horsepower is it capable of measuring?

Heres a pic of my install, what do ya think?

From what I understand, the stock MAF will peg at around 425hp. The biggest issue with it is the post that runs down the center of it and restricts flow.

You can get a Pro-M unit that is matched to your injectors and that should do you good.

A stock maf especially with differnt injectors which looks like he has the blue's will give it more fuel not not more air... So, this is why you're running rich. I would get one thats calibrated to your injector size first off.

I know that my meter is not calibrated to 42's. I put the 19's back in. I know why i am running rich, its not a mystery to me. I am not driving the car either, its just sitting in the garage.

People have told me that the stock meters are junk, and the bends in the piping before it will throw them off, and that they dont work well with a blow through applications. I am just asking if this is true.

I thought about buying a ProM univer and get it calibrated. But if the stock meter will work after the car is tuned it would be a waste of 300 bucks for the Pro M. Because regardless of having the Pro M or the stock meter, it is going to be dyno tuned within the next couple of weeks.

Yeah you need to dump that stock junk.

It is not a good MAF for a blow thru.
I had the procharger on mine before i sold it all and had the pro-m univer calibrated for my 42lb injectors.
This setup worker really well and put down some good numbers with just an 8 psi pulley ... (361 rwhp).

I also heard that the lightning MAF can be used too.

I thought about the Lightning meter. I have heard that the Univer is so much more advanced in the way it samples air. And you got to love Pro M quality

I would highly suggest that you scrap that plastic procharger inlet tube also and get the procharger powerpipe from WMSRacing.com
It puts the air filter deep inside the fender and is ceramic coated.
Once i fitted mine i saw 10 PSI on the gauge , prior to fitting it i was seeing 8 PSI.
Check out the pic of mine.

I've got the Anderson power pipe for mine... I too see 10psi.

Definately ditch the plastic shit.
