I need pics and opinions on Fiberglass hoods

I am looking into getting a new hood for my 2000 stage2. I have heard all sorts of stories about aftermarket fiberglass hoods, and I'm not sure if thats the way I want to go or not. So if any of you have pics of any aftermarket fiberglass hoods could you please post them and also what kind of work is needed to install one, and how is the fit when it is installed? I have heard some people say that it is way to much work, and some say that putting one of these hoods on there mustang is the best thing they have done to it. I am looking at getting a cobra R hood, and I noticed that alot of people have one on there roush, all of them look like they fit really good, so are those aftermarket hoods or are they ford parts.

They are great. There's is a tad misalignment on mine, and the only way to fix it would be to move the surrounding body panels around to match it. There is just a tad more of a gap on one side than the other, everything matches up smoothly though. I have an actual FRPP (Ford Racing Performance Products) '00 R hood and love it. I got it from Mario92 / Strictly Motorsports. I had it installed when it was painted, but I installed it by myself to take it down there to be painted. If I put it on as a one man crew, it can't be that hard to do

Thanks for the picture, it looks great. So since yours came from frod does that mean that it does not have to be sanded down like others would, or did they still have to do that? If they did have to sand it how did that work out is it somthing hard to do, or can it be done in an hour or so?
Thanks

No, it came "gel-coated", ready to be painted I believe. I don't believe they did any "prep" on it, though they charged me for some. It should have just needed to be painted.

ABC kicks out some good stuff. I've gotten allot from them in the past. It doesn't take much prep with their stuff, and it all lines up really well.

I've got a '95 Cobra R hood that will be paint and installed shortly. I'm just waiting on my order for two pints of '04 Mystichrome to come in for some accent for the hood.

Any body parts you look at will need a little prep work. Here are a few companies that I can recommend from first hand knowledge.

FRPP

HO Fibertrends OEM for FRPP

Cervini's

ABC Exclusive

Thanks for all the pics, they all look great. Just trying to get a fill for what kind of work is involved in an aftermarket hood.
