Roush won't start!

Help, this morning the car won't start. I turn the ignition and it sounds like it is going to start but the engine doesn't kick in.

What are the possibilities...?
If it's turning the battery and starter is ok, right?
Alternator? Someone said the chip in the Ford key is maybe screwed up?

RoushMama just drives it, I'd appreciate some guidance~

Thank you all,

RoushMama~

If it is under warrenty...have them tow it in!

Do you have another set of keys for it? Try both sets if you think it is the chip...

Other possiblities...do you smell gas when trying to start it?

that happened to me the first day I owned my roush. the security system harness is right behind the battery.... there was a lose connection on the harness itself. I hope that helps...

I had a similar problem with my 98 GT .. turned out to be a faulty O2 sensor. The amount of things that it "could be" are probably huge - lotsa' parts that'll trigger your car's computer to refuse to start

Only took 2months of sitting in a garage while two mentally deficiant workers stared at it telling me it was my Anti-Theft system before I took my car back and took it to the dealer and they got it running in under 2 hours.

So was it the Key Momma?
If not give us more info does the engine actually crank or just click?

Isn't there a thread on this somewhere? I was thinking lots of us (self included) had this problem, at least when they're hot. One trick offered up was crack the throtle open a little. I had mine in and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. But it hasn't stopped acting up.

It cranks, not just a click. I will check that harness for the security system since it was just installed a week ago.

I still haven't been home to try the other key.

Thanks everyone! Hugs to all~

Exclamation

So you had a new security system installed.Well that might be it.
Is there a kill switch under the dash you may have hit by mistake?

Also is it possible you armed it by mistake? You may need to reset it by the fob that came with it.

Momma did she use the same key?
Our keys are coded and programmed so it is possible your other key isn't coded or is wrong.

Not sure if this is the same issue or not. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

Matt, thanks for that info but in our case the engine was cold. We were trying to start it first thing this morning. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but our Roush is a Stage 2.

We used the same key as this morning so I guess it was not the key problem...

I have a S2 2k and have never had a problem with it starting. Harness sounds like a good place to start. LOL
