03 Stage 2 paint questions. . . .

Well I dont know the history of my 03 Roush 2 but I do know it needs a new paint job bad!! I was just wandering if anyone could provide an insight of what kind of ballpark im in to have the whole thing (Including ground effects) repainted (it is all black). I think I would want Ford to do it just so it is guarenteed or should I not? Im open to suggestions!
Thanks

i don't think that ford will repaint the car. i tried to get an estimate to get my FE and side skirts repainted and they said they only repaint on collision work. i would imagine that it shouldn't cost more than $500 or so.

I was thinking more around $1500... I had a little problem with my S3 facia and to repaint that was going to cost a little over $300. I would imagine all the masking/prep work plus paint work would be up there.

Its an 03 and you need a paint job already? I had a 89 mustang before I bought my Roush. I had the car 12 years and the paint held up fine. Tom

Bought it used with 4000 miles in ohio. found out form a VIN check it was sold to a girl in daytona beach who couldnt afford the payments so it was repoed and sent back to ohio. I bought it but there are light scratches all over her

I would not bother with the dealer unless you are angling for getting it done under warranty. Most dealers just farm the stuff out to a local body shop. You might contact your trusted dealer and ask whom they use and then go there on your own.

I did just this and found a good shop that was versed in painting the new cars with all the plastic pieces. They already knew how to call Roush and get things like emblems, clips, and parts.

Always visit at least three shops and read the tea leaves though. Make sure you dont go to the place where they are sniffing paint

a good paint job will run you at least 800 bucks all the way up to 3 or 4 thousand. i usually charge about 6 to 7 hundred depending on the job and what they are looking for. on the same note i'm in the middle of doing a 2000 vert V6 two tone (like the boyds) green on bottom black on top should have it all done this wednsday. i will post pics when it's done.
