Exclamation Roush interior trim kit

So i made the plunge and spent the $260+ on the roush interior trim kit. I thought it would be new trim pieces, NOOOO, it was press on adhesive covers. The adhesive isnt put in all the right spots so the edges arent firmly applied and the squeak and make noises at High R's. My biggest problem is the poor condition they came in. All the edges of the pieces were in a horrible unfinished condition. Im attaching a pic of what it looks like around my light switch. Now the passenger side door piece warped away from the door and came off across the top. I wrote roush a real nice letter with pictures to see if they will replace the piece for me. Does anyone know if all there products are warrented and has anyone else bough this kit?

The products do have a warranty and there should not be a problem getting it replaced. Did you buy directly through Roush, or did you use a distributor? If you did not buy directly from Roush, they will most likely send you to the original distributor.

Sorry for the problem!

Man that blows.

Just looking at that picture ... and the edges .. and look of it ... makes me think more of friggin' plastic McDonald's happymeal toys than an expensive car interior.

It is products like this ... that make me more cemented in my belief that alot of Roush's line is crap with their logo stamped on it ... you paid $260 for the Roush logo stamped on a handful of molded hunks of plastic. ... so sad

Hope they come through and at least refund you the cost of that stuff, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I bought this POS product also and took it off my car withing two weeks. The door pieces will cause your door handles to come out everty time you touch them and NONE of the pieces fit right.

Exclamation

Thanks for the PM's and the support on this. I contacted Roush via e-mail and Joe promptly responded stating that they would contact the manufacturer for me. I place no blame on Roush itself simply because they do nat manufacture the pieces, but someone needs to step up and take responsibility for the poor workmanship on these pieces. I have faith in Joe and hope this will be resolved soon. My car is entered in the Super Summit show next week (Summit Racings biggest show of the year) and I hope that I can get this resolved before then so i can tell people how Roush takes care of their customers. If anyone else bought this kit please PM me so I can keep a record of all the complaints.
Thanks again for all your support!

I almost bought this interior trim kit, I'm glad I didn't. If I wanted press on overlay bullshit, I'd buy it off eBay for 1/4 the price. Almost makes the real replacement kits like the one from PFRacing look good for $500 if you have the $ to drop on it because theirs is a full blown molded carbon fiber replacement set. Looks decent though, thanks for the pic and the info

That is the thing though, they put their name on them and sell them. That makes it their product. If it is inferior, they made the choice to sell it.

Yup .. someone at Roush somewhere down the line had to pick up that MickeyMouse BS piece of engineering and decide "You know, this looks good enough to put our name on and sell for 22 times what it cost to produce".

Talking

OK come on guys, no more roush bashing. Im sure when the manufacturer introduced the pieces to roush they were in perfect shape and as time has gone by they have had employee changes and slack workers that have turned their beautiful pieces into something less beautiful. I would assume roush would have said no way if they originally saw the pieces in the condition mine were in. The goal here is not to bash Roush, but to make it better.

I think we all want this stuff to be better. Part quality, customer service quality, and dealer service quality.

We have all paid good money for our cars.

When we take them our to car shows and Mustang gatherings we want the image of Roush to be a good one. I dont like the idea that someday I'll be at a show and passers by will say under their breath, "Oh yeah Roush.......CRAP......what a fool".

In that way among many others, we all have a vested interest as Roush owners to do what we can to keep the company headed in the right direction.

Glad I didn't spend the cash for that......I am still wondering why my grey door trim where you pull on the door to close it, is now peeling and turning into black. Were they painted grey somewhere along the line??

Why don't you just take the pieces off the car that you want silver, and paint them yourself? That's what I did. After the paint has dried, put a couple coats of clearcoat and you're good to go.

That's the way to do it, I didn't want to paint the original pieces, so I bought the pieces from Ford that I wanted to paint. When I heard about this stick on trim kit, I thought it might not stick down right.

That is an excelent idea! unfortunately i have never painted anything in my life unless it was with my fingers. Can you give me a little direction on installation and where to get a good paint? Also, how do you clearcoat? I decided i am ripping the set off because i cant stand the sqeaking coming from the pieces! Hopefully roush will just refund my money, ive got a video if anyone has some web space to let me put it up on. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

He did my door cups , Tonneau and light Bar install. He work is second to none.

This thread is another black eye on RPP. Sad...But I agree with Shay's statement about the under breath comments. When Jsck is out at Frontier Fod next month maybe I will mention this all to him.
