you can get the ford soft tonneau on ebay for around 100. the only mod required is you replace around 5 screws with screws with snaps in the trunk to snap the tonneau onto. then it just has tabs that slide under the rear seats and around the sides. its great. a lot easier to deal with than a 1 piece hard tonneau.

For the wheel polishing question: I have Boyds as well. I have the Smoothie II wheel and there is no coating on it. Be careful with the products that you use on them as there are some wheel cleaners that will make a nasty mess of polished aluminum. I use Mother's wheel polish and that works great for me. Although, Boyd sells wheel polish now and I have thought about giving that a shot to see if it is easier.
A couple of rules that I follow that really help me keep my wheels lookin' great: 1. Never let water air dry on them : results in water spots you will have to polish off 2. Polish them every couple of weeks : even in San Diego where the climate is relatively dry aluminum oxidizes after time 3. If you see oxidation or water spots, get it off with a little polish : it only gets worse with time. I know it seems like a real pain in neck, but I found that it was a lot easier to do a little maintenance over time rather than spend 3-4 hours in one shot trying to get all the water spots and oxidation off them. I have heard a recommendation from one of my friends, but I haven't tried it yet. Apparently, once he is done with polishing his wheels he coats them with a little wax and they don' t oxidize or spot as easily. I haven't tried that yet. I will get back to you when I do. |

no i would have had i not gotten a killer deal on the tonneau on ebay. $25 brand new Ford OEM . but i will be ordering the windguard from hanley because it doesnt look like the CDC windguard works too well unless you have the CDC hard tonneau.
dont the Boyds come with a hard tonneau. though i rememberd reading that somewhere. mm&ff or somethin like that. i just checked it was in last years mm&ff sexy stangs issue. it says the boyds hard tonneau was custom built for the car. i guess they must not have given them with the cars unless it was a optoin
