Only thing I've ever heard is to not rev it after you start it. When the engine sits, all the oil puddles up in the bottom. So when you first start it, there isn't oil on all the parts. Let it idle for a minute or two, and then I normally take it easy for the first couple miles.

That advice is right on. should not matter if in Park or Neutral as far as I know, just don't drop it into gear! Correct me if I'm wrong anybody, Mustanger

Revving the engine some is ok, revving it to high rpms is not recommended on any engine, especially if cold.
