stupid question?

I have an automatic, and was just wondering if it is ok to rev the engine while in park, or if it is best to put it in nuetral?

Welcome to the site...Post pics when you get a chance. If its a question you do not know the answer to then its not stupid...Were you told by someone that you shouldnt rev it in Park?

Only thing I've ever heard is to not rev it after you start it. When the engine sits, all the oil puddles up in the bottom. So when you first start it, there isn't oil on all the parts. Let it idle for a minute or two, and then I normally take it easy for the first couple miles.

Rev the crap out of it and drop it in gear. You will get to hear all sorts of noises coming from your transmission.

J/K though. Welcome to the site. Neutral or Park, it will not matter.

Revving the engine some is ok, revving it to high rpms is not recommended on any engine, especially if cold.
