Who Has 3.73s on a s/c'd Roush Mustang?

All - I have an 01 "3" with the DenseCharger, 380 PCM, 2.8 pulley, MagnaFlow Enhanced Sound exhaust. Considering doing a 3.73 swap (and getting the Roush rear-end girdle). I had 3.73s on my 95 GT and 00 Roush "2" and liked them.

Who has done a 3.73 swap on a supercharged Roush Mustang (Stage 3, 360/380R, JR Classic) and what are your opinions and experiences?

Thanks.

There are different opinions on here. Do a search for gears.

It seems 1/2 like the 3.73s, 1/2 like the 3.55. The difference between the 2 gears is very small. 4.10 and above is too much gear for a SC. Stock is 3.27.

IMO, I want to feel a difference. With the 3.55, you wouldn't notice much of a difference from the 3.27, but the 3.73 you probably will. And don't save a penny or two, get the FRPP ones.

I like my 3.73's but should have done the 3.90's. I'm starting to hear humm coming from the gears. I suggest you do the 3.90's.....

If you put them on youll lose .2 in the 1/4 and 2mph.........ask me how I know
Leave the stock gears in it.These cars like to pull against a gear.

HOW DO YOU KNOW? So you are saying to leave in my stock 3:27's, which I intended to do anyway) is the best choice?

the 355 gear is a real nice upgrade not to much and a noticeable increase in gear from the 327 I run a 373 with whole bunch of hp I reworked the complete suspension to make it hook up for the bolt on add ons I think the 355 is perfect just my opinion

3.73 is all the gear I would ever use in a supercharged street car. Some say 4.10 but I do not agree. 3.73's pull hard in my car with a Vortech and 10lbs of boost.

Centrifigal superchargers like Vortech respond will to more gear b/c they need to "spin up". Roots blowers have no lag and don't need so much gear.

Ask Joel.... he knows more....
