Rear exit exhaust...

I also think the 'magna-pac' exhaust is way too quiet. I don't have side exit, I have rear. I need to get louder, but not wake the neighbors. I had 3 chamber Flows on my '95 and liked that when I was just cruising that it wasn't too loud. when you got above 2500 rpm or gave it hell, it was nice and loud.
Would an x-pipe give me some more rumble? I was thinking of just changing the mufflers, but I had read some posts that said the mid-pipe made their cars louder. I would rather add some hp if I'm gonna spend $$ on the exhaust.
I like the sound of the Roush side exit that was on my S2.

You sure you have the Magnapacs? I have a buddy with a GT who has one and I wouldn't really call them that quiet... They aren't crazy loud, but they have a sweet note to them. Get an off road x and it will wake them up quite a bit. I love the sound of those mufflers. I guess oyu could just change out the mufflers- if you do, I'll buy the magnapac mufflers off you...

Magnapacs?

I agree, are you sure you listened to Magnapacks? I have the reqular magnaflow mufflers and they aren't real loud, but they do wake up at WOT. Magnapacks on the other hand are pretty damn loud. Make sure the "Magnapacks" that you are listening to are really Magnapacks. They aren't shaped like regular mufflers, the ones that I saw they are round like your pipes, just bigger.

I love the sound of the packs

Flowmasters

Yeah flowmasters are good, but everybody does flowmasters. I hear them everywhere, I'm even hearing them on grocery-getter SUVs now. Not anything wrong with that, but I like to be different.

It said on my window sticker that it has the Magnapac exhaust. I have looked under the car and all I see is stock looking mufflers, Not the Magnapac kit I have seen advertised with the round almost nothing mufflers.
The ones on the car are not very loud.
Does anyone have the magnaflow cat'ed x-pipe? is it worth the $$? I have only heard of people putting the BBK, Mac, SLP, and Bassani. With the exception of the Mac stuff, the others are pretty expensive. I met a guy at WFC7 that had the Mac powerchamber pipe on his 03 cobra and loved it. It even passed emissions with no cats...

If the muffler looks like the muffler in the top pic, they are just Magnaflows
if they look similar to the bottom pick, then they are packs. My wife has the magnaflows on her car, and it's pretty darn quiet. I have the Magnapacks on my car, and it's very loud, and all my neighbors complain, my brother had the American Thunder FLowmasters, and he is not anywhere near as loud as mine.

Is this like when Roush was upgrading the S2's (i.e. my 2000 S2. build sheet says 18x10 chromes, 18x9 according to the rims) to chrome wheels and only puting 18x9" rear tires instead of 18x10's? WTF???

Those are magnapacs

Looks like magnapacs (or magnapack, I don't know) to me. Wonder why they are quiet for you. I'm stumped

The top ones are MUCH more quiet than the 2nd ones I posted.
the Magnapacks are ROUND. I used to be confused by which was which untill I spoke directly with a Magnaflow rep and he explained the difference. The Magnaflows are Offset.

The flows have much more sound absorbing material than the packs, and that is why they are much more quiet.

My bad

Being a dork, I didn't read the thread completely and missed the whole concept. If you have the ones on the top, they're magnaflows, same as mine. You were robbed man! And I really don't think that there is a big difference in price between the two. Bummer dude!
