off road x pipe or h pipe

which in your opinion is better for a stage 1 v8....this will b my first bolt on....thanks.

That would be the Xpipe. I have a catted Magnaflow xpipe on mine, that is about to be swapped out for an off road pipe in about a month when I install a set of long tube headers. Go with the x pipe. Check local laws to see if an off road setup is permitted, if so I would go with that. Just my .02. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Just to clarify, this is not a local law but I think federal, cats are required on any car manufactured after 1974.

I personally like the sound of H pipes myself over the X. It's a personal opinion thing...is there a way you could hear both in person; i.e. know any other 'stangers who have aftermarket exhausts?

my buddy had a prochamber on his 01 but that is the only newer stang i know....i had an off road h on my 95 gt but it prob sounds diff. than the 4.6...

A lot of people will swear that the H pipe sounds better than the X pipe. However to me it's not a drastic change in sound but I prefer the X pipe over the H pipe performance wise.... it's what I have

Got the front 2 sections for a 2000 up , I believe the rear section is almost the same
