Long Tubes/X pipe COMBO?

Alright guys Im buying Exhaust for the 360R. I know everyone has there opinion on what they would get, but here is what i want to know. I dont want to to be crazy loud, so i think Im going ot keep my stk ford mufflers. I want to go with Headers, but am not sure who to go with. I have done a search on the site and came across BBK vs. MAC LT's. Ive heard its a hit or miss with the BBK, but MAC LT's are consistang and they make power. Also would it be smart of me to stick with the same company when i get the x pipe. Or are they all interchangeable. Im think about MAC LT's, but not sure what X pipe to get? Love to hear some info on what you guys have and what should i expect in gains with LT's and X pipe?

I had BBK equal length shorties on my 95 GT. And I was very disappointed in their product. For starters they sent bolts that were to short and kept backing out so I kept blowing gaskets out until I could find bolts that would work. Even with copper gaskets it sounded like a ricer. Secondly the flange on one of the headers was warped when I bought them. I took them back from where I purchased them and exchanged them for another set that was warped. But the saying goes you get what you pay for. Obviously, I would promote anyone to boycott BBK. The HP gains were decent but I had Equal Length and an H pipe. Both were BBK. I have a friend that has MAC and has had no problems or complaints.

I haven't read anything good on Mac stuff ....

I personally would highly recommend BASSANI mid length headers and bassani x pipe .

So I guess it a mud throwing matter when we get to talk about these different companies. How much are the Bassani headers and x pipe combo?

I have had MAC headers before and I liked them.

Mac longtubes and a Mac prochamber and you are good to go for the price. Bassani is good too but quite a bit more than Mac. Your best bet would be to go to a few shows or get togethers and hear for yourself the different combinations.

So Im thinking i am going to order up a set of MAC LT's and a MAC shorty x pipe to go along with it. I am then going to use the stk ford mufflers. Eventually i want to get the steeda catback, they sounds really sweet on a few of my buddies cars.

have you went to http://www.mustangexhaust.com/4.6sounds.htm ?you can hear a lot of different setups there.my g/f had bbk lt's, and o/r h with stock mufflers, and you couldnt tell it was different. so i put some flowmaster 50's on it(so i could still hear the supercharger)and it sounds pretty good. only loud in back of the car, cant really tell inside the car.

I am sure Kev could do it but his web server bill would spike dramatically and I don't think we need that to happen to him anytime soon.

if you ever happen to need work on the trans then you/dealer will have to loosen the passenger side header on mac/bbk. i would get some hooker or jet-hot lt's along with the x-pipe. with the hooker's you don't have clearence issues when working on the trans. i actually had some jet-hots to go on my old S2 but sold them because i sold the car.

I had BBK LT's, O/R H, flowmasters and it rocked, easy install, great sound, great fit, no problem. I just got a hold of a BBK O/R X for my Cobra going in tomorrow. I think you will find pros and cons each, choose on sound they each perform about the same. Price is pretty close I think.

Also the stock mufflers SUCK!!! Don't keep them. They are so restrictive that when I put them back on my GT even with LT's and O/R H you almost couldn't hear the car run!!! You will spend a ton of money by doing the front of the exhaust just to cork the back end of it (like putting a cork in a wine bottle). There are so many other great mufflers that sound good, peform good and won't be overly loud.
