Stage 1 confusion...

Hey, I am a total noob at this...

So, I was wondering if I wanted to do the Stage 1 conversion for my 2004 GT, would that run me about 6k just for the parts? Then would that mean I would need to find some shop to paint it Sonic Blue. And installing it would be a big problem, since I dont want to leave my car for a few days. So would it be possible for them to install it within a day?

Or..would it be cheaper to just do the side exhaust and the body kit? Then do the rest later? I figured the body kit is like 750, since I want to keep the stock spoiler. Then the exhaust would run me like 1 grand, but why does the sites say it comes with a Y-pipe?

I think the Y pipe is for the V6.

I think you should call up a Roush performance dealer and get together a shopping list, and before you buy, sign up with the ROEA so that you can get the 10% rebate.

These things do take time, so you might want to add a rental car to the budget.

The only time they(a body-shop) should have your car is for the final installation(which won't take a whole day).
You can have them paint the parts off of the car, and then just install them.

Also, if you only want certain parts of the kit, don't spend on the whole kit. Just get the parts you want. That will save you a lot of dough.

6k?

I'm doing a Roush clone myself (03 Mustang GT) and 6K seems high for parts for a S1, now if you were doing a S3, 6K isn't even close. PM TXROUSH, he has pretty good prices, as well as Stage 3 motorsports, it can depend on each part. If you start adding labor then you may approach that number. Which parts are you looking to add, cuz there are a lot of options?
