stage 2 - concerns. - warrenty issue

I was looking at buying a stage 2 coupe at a ford dealership. It has 32k miles on it, and they want like 18k for it. They mentioned they won't offer an extened warrenty is that for real or is something wrong with the car???? It looks cosmetically in great shape other than a little chiping on the fasica which i'm not concerned about. Is there anything I should look for or know about prior to buying the car? I've read about wheel rub on here is there anything I can look for to see if that is an issue.

also I ran a carfax(for what it's worth) it mentions that it had 5900 miles on it before it was sold - does that make it a demo or something? i read somewhere on it that then it gets a full extened warrenty or something.

any help is apprciated thanks.!

Welcome and where are you located at? Lot of nice rides on ebay right now. You might want to shop around and I wouldnt worry about extended warranty too much... usually a big waste of money IMO, D

it's a 2002 - and I'm concerned about the extened warrenty because the sales guy was quick to offer whatever we wanted. and then the sales manager was like well uhhh we don't offer that and you can get one from an outside source. I also am not mechanical at all, and don't want to buy a car that is going to fall apart 6 months down the line. -

The car has the regular gt badging on it. I know some of them don't come with the roush badgeing but i'm curious about that too. - how easy is it to buy new ones/ install them???

Also do all stage 2's come with the CAI? - I'm not sure if this one does( I stupidly didn't pop the hood. ) - they mentioned they had changed the air filter for some reason, I figured that was why.

I've also read about the 18 wheels rubbing, if I see the inside edge of the tire is balding. Anything I can do to make them fix it before I buy it?

I'm from outside of philly. hopefully joining the roush club here!

They were like that when I bought my S2 -- second owner. They were afraid that I would be out street racing and stuff so they wouldn't offer extended warranty service either. The dealer is right - you can buy extra warranties if need be but most of the time they are useless. Make sure you use it to talk him down in price like I did though -- knocked an extra 2,000 off for it.

Yeah I would definetly have them come down on the price. I bought a 2001 stage2 with 28K on it for 14700 plus 600 for shipping from Cali to OKC. You can find really good deals if you search around. If you are worried about getting finacing and you think that you need to go through a dealer trying looking at capitaloneautofinace.com I have used them for the last 3 cars I have purchased.

WAY TO MUCH, Man if you are looking to spend that, then you should be looking for a stage 3, 360R, or something, 18K for a stage two is kinda high, remember its just a GT with suspension and a body kit, depending on what upgrades it has.

I would not worry about the extended warranty that the dealer says they wont offer. Every dealer has their own policy. In the end, these warranites are far more costly than most repairs that might come your way anyway.

As an aside, you can get online and buy a warranty for your car.

I ment to say for a regular gt. I was implying that the roush I was looking at was roughly blue book value for a regular gt.

I'm new here so bear with me. I purchased a 2002 S2 in July 2004 with 12,897 miles on it. The Ford dealer told me a Roush was like a SVT vehicle, no extended warranties available thru Ford.
