Need some help with Roush springs - I'm done with my H&Rs

Hi all:

I usually post on stangnet, but this time I specifically need help from the Roush guys.

I've finally had enough of my H&R supersports after only about 3000 miles. They look and handle fantastic, but are completely impractical on the crappy roads up here in MA. I cant drive ANYWHERE without grounding out the K member somewhere along the way.
The rear of my car is fine, but the front is totally slammed. I can barely get 2 fingers between the tire and the wheel arch, and my 265/35s are slightly lower overall diameter than stock rims too. The clearance under the K member just isnt enough, and now I can only get up the driveway to my new house backwards!

Anyway, I was looking at getting spacers for the front springs but couldnt find anything. Came across Roush Track Day front springs for cheap. They say 1.5" drop and I spoke to Roush and they said their springs drop about 1" up front and 1.5" out back. This way I dont have to mess with the rear springs that I like (meant to be 1.6" drop so they should work). My only fear is that the H&R'd rear will be lower than the front with the Roush springs... that would look retarded.

If anyone with Roush springs could measure the clearance from stock diameter tires to the wheel arches (front and back if possible) then I'll be able to compare measurements to my current setup, and know whether or not to do this.

THANKS!

My car:

I got 27-1/4" up front and 28-1/4" in back
That is measured from the ground to the fender
Wheel gap up front is 2-3/8" and rear is 2-3/4"
That was measured with a straightedge placed on the surface of the tire, then measured the gap from the bottom of the straightedge to the top of the Arch.
These are measurements with the SM01 springs

Thanks. I'll post my H&R measurements tomorrow. I saw the custom seat delete in your sig. Did you buy it with a red perspex overlay - i think i ve seen pics before. There was a guy selling them but I cant find his website anymore. He made nice seat deletes with holes fort Subs etc, and just started selling vinyl covered deletes.

The H&R's do look and handle great but, your right about the way it rides. It rides soo rough that I have to zig and zag around the roads of Florida. I Roush springs will have a better ride but the back sits a tad higher on the back and the front will be a little higher as well (On all four corners).

I need to tighten up my strut tower brace AGAIN in my vert because it gets loose from the ride.

Red locktite this time....

Ok. I measured my car up. Did all four corners, cause it wasnt quite sitting level.

Front is about a 16th less than 26" from ground to fender. Back is 27-1/8". I.e. just over an inch lower all round.
Wheel gap is about 1-3/8" up front and about 2-3/8 out back. I see that the last number doesnt add up quite right... the rear of my car is 1" lower, but the tire to fender is only 3/8" closer. Diff tires I expect...

Well I'm going to try it. If anyone has more pics of their front wheel wells with the SM01 springs i'd appreciate it. I went through the album section for a while. Right now my car leans forward a lot, so I think just changing the front springs might level it out nicely and be more practical.
Only question I have is whether or not to use the front isolators with the Roush springs. Based on what I see from your pics, I'll decide whether to skip them to get a little more drop.

Thanks for your help. Please post some pics for me.

Dave
