Only 1 that I know of, ROUSHGUY has a 6 speed in his vert. But aren't 5th and 6th both overdrives? I could be wrong.

Yep.
Tremec 3550 wouldn't be such a bad choice either.

i've heard of some switching to the T56 it was originally made for vipers but has since been made or mustangs it is a 6 speed and spose to be a great transmission able to handle high horsepower i've read some running 1000 horses to them
here is a link to a site for the transmission http://www.ddperformance.com/T56%20Kits.htm
here is a disscussion board on some of the transmissions people are running in their mustangs and what kind of performance they are getting out of them
http://www.mustangforums.com/m_662129/tm.htm

hope this info helps you out i also plan to be putting a 6 speed in my car after i build my new engine

It is a nice thing to have, the extra gear. If I was planning to keep my car much longer I would probably do the conversion myself.

While 5th and 6th are OD gears, they do alter the gear ratios through-out all gears, so is it still quite a bit different and quicker to wind up...closer ratio is fun with 6 gears.

If you already have a manual, the swap is fairly easy. A new driveshaft (due to ~1/2" shorter), hooking up the reverse lockout to the brakes, and modifying the crossmember/tranny mount (or buying a cobra one) is about all I believe it takes these days.

What does the reverse lockout to the brakes part mean Darren?

If I remember correctly, the T-56 has a reverse lock-out that is a little more intrusive than normal manual trannies to prevent accidentally putting the tranny in reverse while driving. They recommend a button to do so, but most people just hook it up to the brake pedal. In effect, it's the same as my truck in the fact you can't put the truck in reverse without applying the brakes first, that's all...however it's a point a lot of people overlook then wonder why it's so hard to put the car in reverse (although it can be done).
