Question Does this seem realistic?? Roush clone low 9s 1/4 mile

I was looking to buy a roush coupe close to CT, and I found one in New York. It was originally a 2004 Mustang GT, cloned into a Roush 440A w/ more power, according to the seller
He said it had all Roush options plus these:
Superchips tuning chip, 70MM FRPP throttle body, 80MM C&L MAF with cold air kit, Optima Yellow top battery, Snow Performance red anodised strut brace, Chrome radiator hoses, stainless hose braiding on other hoses. Alarm system. 3.73 gears

He said it runs low 9s in the 1/4 mile. I didn't believe it, because it seems like a daily driver, with only a few mods.
What do you guys think, with those mods, what would it run the 1/4 in?

So it has the Roush SC kit, seats, body kit, suspension? I highly doubt it runs in the low 9's. Have any pics? Where in NY?

well he definitly went backwards as far as the TB goes as the ROUSH blower setup uses a BBK 75MM and this guy put on a 70MM. Also, the best i have seen so far on this board was the guy in FL that ran like 12.5 or something with 3.73's on a roush S3. I have just about all the mods you can do but the snow deal and i can guarantee its no 9sec car, not even a 10sec car, at least not with a stock block and this setup.

my best was about 13.5 at about 106 last yr in about 90+ degree San Antonio heat and humidity on the bfgoodrick kd's with s3 suspension. best case, depending on driver of course and that the car is properly tuned, somewhere from about 12.3 and up, but then again, a million factors go into 1/4 runs. that was my first time ever dragging.

for a 9sec car:

1. you need a roll cage

2. you need some big fat slicks

3. you need more than a S3 setup, suspension and engine wise

4. you need to remove some weight from the car

5. you need to be a hell of a driver

6. you could prob do it with a manual but most go with that special auto tranny

7. if this guy has run a 9sec 1/4 mile, then have him do it again and video tape it

8. and if it does do 9.0sec 1/4miles, then buy the damn car!!!

So, he has the S/C??

If so, considering all that, I'd say probably a high 12 sec. car.

C'mon now guys, you've been at this a wile...chrome radiator hoses and a red anodized strut bar has to be worth a good 2 seconds off your E.T.....easy! It's too bad we don't have the "B.S. flag" smiley to use.

9's in the 1/4 mile with the mods he described? No way. Not even with a serious shot of nos(250 shot) The guy is full of crap. Why buy a ROUSH 440 clone? keep looking, they are out there.

Yeah no way that car could do that. To get in the 9's you would need about 600-700 hp...Very few cars ever make it there...
