Shucks no!!! Remember this is an American V-8!!!

These engines last a long time..150,000 to 200,000 or more is to be expected. Go for it..

Depending on the engine the basic rule is about 60-70k... i would not do it over 70 k. jim

Naahh... I hate rice! LOL.... You guys aren't old enough to know how long American V-8's can last! My 69 Mach 1 with a 351 went 300,000 miles before a rebore & bearings... A valve job at 250,000 was all that was needed... in fact all my v-8s that I kept long enough went from 140,000 to 175,000.

I even took a chevy pickup in trade once with 250,000 miles on a 350 v-8, didn't burn any oil but everything else had fallen apart!

Now the Ford small engines are a different matter.

Ps.. I don't know any oxys you morons!!

LOL, you need to chime in on my thread How Old Were You W/ 1st Stang How Old Now W/ Current?
I think the simple carb engines back in your day seemed to last alot longer. I am 36 and have not seen that degree of reliability out of 80's+ american engines. I still must always have one in the gargage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put almost 200,000 on an 89 Bronco, 351 fuel injected engine.. the C6 tranny had never been touched other than fluid change somewhere around 100,000 or so. Still had original Freon in AC... it never leaked or broke. Dang fine vehicle. I have 90,000 on my F150 5.4 litre and never been back for warranty on anything yet. I'll email you when it turns over 200,000 and again at 300,000...I don't know what more one could expect out of a car.

( I did have a real lemon F150 in 88 though.. a REAL LEMON!)

No.

Besides, who cares about mileage? If the motor gets too old and croaks, replace it with a built one.

Corky Bell, in his book Maximum Boost, had this to say about it...

(I have to paraphrase it because I do not recall the exact words)

"Some people say you shouldn't supercharge an engine with over 50, 70, or 100 thousand miles on it.
But do these same people ever say that a supercharged engine that has been supercharged since the beginning should have its supercharger removed after it has 50, 70, 100 thousand miles?
No, they do not!"
