Ok Here is another question?????

So aside from everything else I’m trying to do to the Classic I also want to lower it! I would love the Roush suspension but it's too expensive according to the WIFE!!! So I’m gonna go with an inferior option.

I have been using the handy dandy search tool and have come up with either going for the Bullitt suspension which is like $400 and overall sounds good but it doesn’t have the drop I want it only drops the car ¾ of an inch. Or going with the Tokico HP suspension kit - Includes 4 Tokico struts and 4 Tokico lowering springs which drop the car 1.5” all around for about $400 as well.

So if I go with the Bullitt my question is can I cut the spring to lower it more and is that even an option??? Or can I use different springs with that set up? And if I do use different springs will that affect the struts and shocks?

Ok so if I go with the Tokico HP set up is 1.5” Drop in the rear to much or will it be ok?
I don’t want the wheels in the back hitting the fender or any thing else.
I know the Roush suspension drops the car an 1.5” half in the front so I should be ok with that right?

Oh by the way I have 17” Roush wheels! AND I’m also installing new MM CC plates.

Thanks
Rob

AND BY THE WAY YOU PEOPLE ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy you know what? If you cant swing the Roush suspension right now, my best advice is to spend your budget elsewhere.

I dont mean that feciciously, I really mean it. The Roush suspension costs more because it is tuned to work the best.

When you buy parts here and there, namely shocks, springs, and swaybars are that not engineered to work together you will get handling that reflects that. NOBODY, NOBODY does the testing and tuning that Roush does on their suspension for handling, NVH, and overall feel.

My own experiences on some of our project cars has taught me this lesson. We even bought a Saleen complete suspension system that does not hold a candle to the solid confidence that the Roush suspension offers you.

Again, if you have to wait to get the good stuff, you will be happier in the end.

^^i agree...the stage 3 suspension on my roush is like no other. The way it handles and feels. If you can't afford the stage 3 suspension, I agree with MustangOne...either save to get it, or spend your money elsewhere

for the stage 3 suspension..you're looking at 1300-1500. Well worth it though

edit: that price range is from a place like stage3motorsports or someone like that..i'm not sure..but i'm sure roushparts.com is much higher

^^ +2 save for the right setup, or you may live to regret it. Best to do things right first, as it will save you $ in the long run (I mean it will give your wife more $ to spend on shoes, ect. in the long run... )

Haha, I was expecting a response like this!!! Well I have to save up to get the stage three Suspension!
But I want to drop it in the mean time and this is what I was thinking until I buy the Stage Three Suspension.
So if I do drop the rear 1.5" will I have to modify anything and Does anyone have a pic with car that has a 1.5" Drop all around?

Thanks
Rob

just get the Roush springs that come in the Stage3 suspension and get the rest when you can afford it. The springs will give you the drop you are looking for and that way you have the start to the whole package. I just got my springs the other day from Stage3 Motorsports and will be putting them in after my clutch work. I will pick up the rest later this summer

Do not put the Eibach Sportlines on the car. When I got my Classic & it did not have the suspensoin on it I did'nt care I had all the stuff that I had not put on my Bullitt & when I did you could not drive the car because it was so low. I have 1 1/2 ass set up on my car car now Ford B springs up front & BBK in the rear. I have in the works H&R springs,Bilstein shocks, & Maximum Motorsports for the other stuff. I have $900 in shocks & camber plates

I may would try the H&R or the Eibach pro kit.

We put the Eibach Pro Kit Plus on the 94GT and love it! Came with everything you need, tuned shocks & struts, roll bars bushings springs that dropped it 1 1/2".. perfect stance no clearance issues and handles perfect on the street. Not as good as the Roush suspension but darned good overall. Cost was $900.

well i agree with the above, the stage 3 suspension is best set up than anything else i have been in. my last stang i had the maximum motorsports kit that included the bilstiens and h&r sport springs and everything else, i think it dropped it perfectly, the stance was perfect with 18" rims, but, it did not have the every day ride compliance like the roush kit has. you can get just the springs, but your shocks and struts aren't designed to handle that drop so you will wear out the shocks much quicker, but if your gonna put the whole suspension on in the future, prob won't be to big of a concern.

Exactly what I was going to post. I only drive mine on nice sunny days, so it sits most of the time. Not sure if you have that option or not. If the ride quality gets extremely bad, then its time to get the rest

Good luck

I can't wait for this day to come for me....back to the topic...Do not sell yourself short...go for the Roush product..you will not be sorry. MM caster camber plates work great with this suspension as well. I just spent $600 on Roush Billsteins..Yeah it was a small fortune, but I am not willing to compromise functionallity for a lesser price/product..hell..and I'm not rich by any means. I just don't believe in selling yourself short. You can get a great deal from Bill @ stage3motorsports. Just give 'em a call.

you got to pay to play, bottom line. sometimes its best to just wait and do it all right the first time.

Thanks every one!

Oh i do have simple ques. when installing the caster camber plates it says to add spacers to the top of the camber setup if your dropping the vehicle (and keeping the same struts ( i assume this is to compensate for the drop ) but what when i install roush supension do i add the spacer at the bottom or at the top??? Becuase i assume that roush struts are set up for the roush springs.
