Do Roush Mustangs VIN#'s Say GT or Roush?

Ive been looking at an 01 Roush Mustang but when i looked up the VIN # it comes up as a 2001 Mustang GT. Is it really a roush?

They come up as a GT.

IIRC, since the car rolled off the assembly line as a Ford Mustang GT, that's how the vin would read. All the Roush mods are aftermarket, hence no Roush in the vin.

call Roush with the VIN and they will tell you if its a real Roush

Correct.
Saleen is the same way, except, unless I'm mistaken, Saleens come up as a Saleen not a GT.
edit: after searching, looks like Saleen may be the same deal... hmm.... I could have sworn they changed the VIN....
