3.55 gears on my S3?

My original gears that are on the car have worn themselves out, so it's time to get a new set. I take the car in Monday to get it all replaced and I originally just said to put a new set of stock 3.27's back into the car, but now that i'm thinking about it I'm wondering if I should go to a 3.55. Just wondering what some of the opinions were on this and if there was a particular name brand gear I should go with. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I would stick with the Ford gears but would change to a 3.73. You probably wouldn't notice much difference with only going to the 55's

With 4.10s it would redline so quick, you wouldn't even use 1st gear anymore.
Go with the 3.73s.

Here is a great article on rear end gears for Mustangs. It supports the 3.73 suggestion. Keep in mind that you will either need to get a new tune or go with a mechanical cable gear change to compensate as I understand you will not be able to change it in the Roush programming.

3.55 here and like them. I have plenty of poop to push them and they have great range/driveability.

You could recalibrate you speedometer in 1 of 2 ways. You could either get a tune or you can buy a speedcal. Look them up on steeda's website. I've installed quite a few and they work perfect.

My .02, I have 3.73's and I'm very happy with them. I drive on the highway and local roads. RPM's are only 300 or so higher than 3.55's..You will need the recalibration, though...If i remember, at 70, I tach 2100 in fifth, but I'll have to go out tonight to confirm that...Good luck....

criuising 100 in 6th i think was 22-2300 , I just dont feel like spending $200 a pop to find out.
