Unusre about X//H pipe

well after viewing a few threads and everyones mixed opinions about X and H pipes that I am wanting to put on my 2003 GT with side exhaust spintechs I have decided to post up my own thread to see what everyone else is using and hopw they like the sound. I am using stock GT headers so by using a x or h pipe will I get better sound? And what brands are you using?

I really think the X-pipe sounds better on the 4V motors and the h-pipe or pro-chamber sounds better on the 2V motors.

It all comes down to preference. Your best bet is to hang out with a bunch of other Mustangs and hear for yourself the differences in exhausts. That way you will be happiest making the decision you do.

Agreed, you are the only one who can tell you what sounds best. Go to a local speedshop if you have one and they should be happy to let you hear a few different combinations.

General consensus is the X-pipe is loud and raspy, while the H-pipe is low and rumbly (is that a word?). As to which sounds better is up to you. Check out Mustang Exhaust Clips There you can listen to a bunch of different combos. You may have to register for free. I cant remember.
Good luck in the hunt

I have shorty headers , I installed a o/r H-pipe with the magnaflows, It was to loud for my taste at lower RPM up to about 3500 then it evened out.

I swapped out to a Hi-flow X-pipe. Now it has the sound thats right for me.

Catted H-pipe and Spintechs, FN love it. My longtubes also give it some more grunt.

Finally...spintechs
midways down the page are 3 clips of my spintechs/offroad xpipe. clip 1 and 3 are the best. But clips don't really do these any justice. Hope that helps

I don't think the H is louder, it's a deeper note rather than a high raspy sound from what I've heard so far, but, it's all in the preference of the person. I've heard some good x-pipes with longtubes, just prefer the H.
