Cool Replacement for the Roush...

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum b/c I didn't purchase a new Roush… however I did just purchase an 03 DSG Cobra this past Saturday!! To update people that didn't know, I recently was in a horrible accident where my 2002 Stage II Roush was totaled from some idiot running a stop sign. I have been looking for about 7 months now for something to replace her and finally found it! It's not mineral gray and I gave up on the search for an 03 MG cobra because of how rare they are and how hard it would be to find one in good shape. I do love the look of the DSG and it's good to have a small change.. something to not totally remind me of the Roush.

As far as plans in modding it, she already has a 2.8 pulley on her as well as a JLT intake. The exhaust is completely stock except the magnaflow tips. She is tuned obviously because she has a pulley done... but I'll be purchasing and SCT tuner soon to create a tune for my needs. Tint also needs to be done ASAP. The Roush kit is sitting at my house from my Roush and I'm still not sure if I'm goin to transform this cobra to one. I have all the parts of the Roush just sittin there. If I decide to keep it with the cobra look you all will have first dibs on the parts!!

P.S. For the people that are also on SFS... THIS IS A SECRET for the 9/11 RUN! So keep it on the DL! lol. Pleeeease

Here are some pics that were taken, sorry they aren't the best quality...

It had the heads replaced to resolve the ticking issue from the valve guide wearing from not enough coolant goin through the passages to cylinders 7 & 8, one of the first things I checked when I was looking at it. That's what you are referring to correct??

No the head ticking was a TSB issue, There is a separate head cooling mod where in stock form there is no water flow thru the passenger side head causing the back cylinders of the head to run hot and many bad things to happen. The head cooling mod is just drilling and tapping the freeze plug on the backside of the head and running a cooling line from it to the other head so there is constant flow of water thru the heads keeping them cool. Best time to do this is next time you replace the clutch, makes it easier to access the back of the head without dropping the motor out.

heres a good source of info on anything Cobra. CobraBob is the man....
