Roush Toolbox And Coin

I did some searching, but could not an answer. I just bought a complete Roush toolbox from a guy to have as a spare for my Stage 2. He took it out of his vehicle before he sold it(not sure the year of his Roush). The coin is silver with a cobra on one side, and a star and 2843 on the other. It says Roush on both sides. I am assuming it came out of a Roush Cobra. Year? Value of box and coin? Thanks for any info.

I can tell you that the boxes for the 1994-1998 and the 1999-2004 cars are different and aren't interchangeable.

Some coins had the cobra on the reverse side. Nothing special about them.

The 2843 was probably just engraved from the previous owner and Roush door jam serial number.

So, basically, whoever owns the Roush Cobra is probably running around with no coin or box. I figured that Roush may have engraved the coins, being that it was a high-end vehicle. I will post a pic when I can.

It use to be that when you got your tool kit it came with a packet to ship your coin off to them and they would engrave the number for you.

I guess that was easier to do back in the day when there were what, like 10 of you Roush owners running around?

That is exactly what mine looks like, except is has 2843 engraved. Did you get yours engraved, or did it come like that from Roush?

I kind of thought so. That makes these coins unique to the car it came with. So, I came across someone elses coin. Kinda makes the car "missing a piece" of it's originality. Well, if 2843 contacts me, I may be willing to negotiate something. However, in todays economy the silver content is worth...........

So who wants to trade a regular Roush coin for a Cobra coin?
