Tire sizes and brands?

I'm looking at buying new tires and plan on running a 315/30/18 on the rear and a 265/35/18 for the front.I have looked at tires for about 9 days now and am "tired" out!

My Rim size = Front-18x9 Rear-18x10.5

My question is: Who here is running a 315/30/18? If you are, or know somone who is, What brand/type?
Also what are you running in the front to go along with the rear?(noticed most brands who do offer the 315 dont offer a 265 for the front)

I would like to keep both the front and rear the the same(close to) tread pattern.

If you are running a drag radial, what are you running in the front and how does it balance out? I was told by more than a couple tire sales people that it is not good to mix and match.

Ok, so here is what i want: I am looking for tires that are resonably priced. I do not bring it to the track that often, but i do drive it agressivly on the street. So i would like to get a tire that holds well to the road, drives good in wt conditions, and is not going to wear out in a couple months. Any ideas??? also i dont burn out or anything, so a tire with resonable tread wear is ok.

Please help and thank you for all your input!!!!!

The 315 is only made by a few companies. The 295/35-18 by BFG is as big as the 315 nitto. If you wanting to match front and rear your better of doing 295 and 265/35-18. Anything BFG is going to good, Goodyear also has the Supercar tire that does really well on the corvettes. If you need any other info don't hesitate to ask tires is what i do.

???? So the true tire size vs the number it is given(295/35-18) varies from brand to brand?

What size of a contact patch does the BFG have? I want a 315 because i want to fill the fender wall completly. My friend drives a 03 cobra and he has the yokahama advan sports. They look and grip great, but i was told they wear ridiculasly fast! He said that they were a full blown track tire.

What would you recomend for my set up? since you do tires.

Thanks again!!

Yeah actual tire sizes vary from company to company. BFG runs the biggest that i know. I have the 295/35-18 BFG KD on the back of mine and it fills up the fender wheel. They are also one of the best gripping and driving tire I have ever used. Toyo make the T1R in those sizes and i've sold several sets to Corvette guys and they seem to love them. If i had to recommend a tire setup it would be the BFG KD or KDWII.

Go to Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels they have all these tires and more that i'm talking about and more than likely they'll be cheaper than your local tire shop.

i am running 295/35/18 and 265/35/18 and they are pretty big. my rear inner fender is rolled and i have some very slight inner well rubs from hard cornering. i am running the stock argent roush wheels.

i got a great deal from the discount tire contact on this site...i posted on the thread below. i got the BFG KDW2

UPS brought me 4 nice gifts

they do have lots of grip. my exhaust is loud enough that i dont hear the tire noise some people report.
