Except that the front Roush wheels are 9" wide. I was under the impression that the Cobra wheels were 9" as well?

There is no way that those 2 tires sizes are nearly identical. Verify it by using the calculator link I posted.

Given that the width and ratio are the same, the sidewall would be the same. So going from a 17" to an 18", the 275/40/18 will be 1" taller than the 17".

No I understand its going to be taller, I'm more concerned with width and the possibilty of hitting the sway bar when I fully crank the steering wheel to either side. Checking with BFG, the tire width of both tires is 10.9" If it hits the swaybar, it will be with the side of the tire not the top so height should'nt theoretically be an issue.

The tire will be 1/2" greater in radius, thus pushing it out closer suspension when you turn, and that may create problems. And you'll raise the height of your car by 1/2". IHMO I think the 275/40/18 will look out of place on the car, like truck tires. I'll leave you alone now.

ABC powdercoating on Bruce B. Downs, just East of Nebraska Avenue. I've had dozens of projects done there with never an issue.

Before you take off driving that thing you need to put some tires on those rims.

I bought 3/4" today. I gained a half inch in backspace as the Cobra wheels had a 6 1/2" backspace and the Roush wheels haf a 7" backspace. I just don't want to beat up the outer wheelwells if 1" is too big. I did get the brakes finished in red and the rotor hats in black today.

Thank God, thank you sir. Did you need longer wheel studs on the back? Did you need steering stops on the fronts?

Dude, actually ... those spacers are still sitting in the garage along with the button head bolts. My current tire and rim set up work .. but the spacers are going to be used when I do the same thing you're doing. Paint a set of ROUSH wheels. Although I'm thinking of getting the longer studs anyway. I know Arthur (Darren's car) has them and it's the most complete "FIX".
As for the fronts ... again, my current set-up is very 'stock'. Your answer will be my answer!!
