    04 Cobra - Plasti-Dip'd FR500s, Stripe Delete

figured i'd see what satin blk fr500s would look like. i personally like em. i'm not sure if i'd do it permanently.

should i paint the chrome centercaps black? leave chrome ones? i swap in my brushed alum centercaps?

Looks real good, I would definitely paint the center caps black.

Nope I am going to go against the majority I guess...I prefer the stripes & I can't see the all black wheels in the first pics, no contrast...looks like big black blobs...then in the closeups they still look well, kinda anonymous, nothing to catch the eye just all dull black, hard to tell where the rims start & the tires leave off. But this is just my opinion & doesn't count for much & I am not into the latest trends or anything...so feel free to ignore it...lol, you would probably hate my car for sure, I like flashy & not subdued. But your car IS clean & sinister looking, I like to majority of it very much.

I actually like it both ways. The only thing I don't like is the gas cap cover. I'm not a fan of any of them that are like that.

I'm one for the stripes. Adds to the "race car" look, but if that is not what you want... Like Mustanger said, my opinion don't count for much and I am "old school" to boot.

What I would do with your car:

Stripe the top of the car, side stripes can stay off.

Paint the calipers AND the center cap/lug nuts Roush red (like big brake kit) (to achieve the contrast Mustanger and I think you need) then wheels could stay all black.
(Wouldn't it be nice if they still made raised white letter tires; they would look great here [and anywhere else for that matter]). See? I'm old school.....

I think the outlined "Cobra" is cool, and a flip of the coin which of the two lands on the car, regardless of other options, since either way looks equally and really good.

Since I like the "boy-racer" theme, and I'm for stripes, the gas cap would stay as it is.

To stay more subdued; stripes off, body color the gas cap plus the wheel lugs and center cap, outlined Cobra emblem. An option would be to body color the calipers and leave wheel center cap and lugs black.

Just my humble opinion and that IS what the OP was asking for, isn't it? Honestly, from what I see: it won't matter WHICH way the OP goes because that will be one FNSweet ride!!

    Roush ON!

    thanks

i had alot of ppl like the stripes. i did them myself out of a big roll of matte black vinyl i bought. still have enough left to do 5 more cars probably. but if i ever do stripes again, i think it'd be cool to do matte gray. theres a few that have done that. i know i seen a few silver roushes with gloss gray stripes.

I think the grey stripes would be a good call too.
