Only a month away. We are also joining another group of Mustangers Saturday afternoon for a grand run through the tail with over 50 mustangs as part of their Wounded Warrior project. Only a couple rooms left at the lodge so get your reservations in! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions...

I am planing on being there for Saturday. I will not be in the car though, I always take a bike trip in the spring and will just time it for the event. Looking forward to seeing all the cars and being a part of it just without a car. Hopefully everybody will let me look.

Well this sounds fun. I'm off that weekend and haven't driven the Tail even though i'm in NC a few hours away. I'll have to see if I can get out of a motorcycle ride escort at work to come.

Went down to Lexington, KY last year to meet up with the Wounded Warrior High Five Tour that was coming thru. Met retired Col. Folsom and signed the GT500 tour car. Great program and very much needed and apprerciated by our Brothers & Sisters in Uniform. Looking forward to meeting up with the Wounded Warrior group again.

For those of you who wish to join us for our Tail of the Dragon/Cherohala Skyway cruise we are meeting at the Fontana Village Resort parking lot. Please be there ready to hit the road at 9AM Saturday morning. We are meeting the NC Mustang group back at the Fontana Dam at 2:15PM for their Wounded Warrior project and a massive run of WELL over 50 Mustangs through the tail. Both groups would love to see as many of you as possible join us for whatever part of the event you can make it for. Hope to see a bunch of you there!

Note: If you can't make the lodge parking lot by 9AM you may still be able to catch us. Our route will start out north from the lodge (adjacent to the Fontana Dam on Moonshiner 28) through the dragon following the yellow route on this map:

What other group? I think our plans are to leave Sat morn and do the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway, making a 4 hour loop. Somewhere along the way we're gonna meet up with the Wounded Warrior Group. After the 1st run, it should be Miller Time.

I am trying to figure out if I will be able to catch you guys at the store there at the Dragon and if I miss you on your way through will I have another chance at 2:30 back at the dam?

For those planning on being there are any of you familiar with how to use a go pro camera? I borrowed one from a buddy but he forgot to give me the instructions in English.

I was afraid I would miss you if I could not make the dam and I did. We had a hour and forty five minute drive to get there that turned into two hours. How did the trip turn out and how many cars turned out?

The ROEA group had 11 cars. At the Wounded Warrior meet there were around 40 cars or so.

Man I hate that I missed it. It was so foggy on our way up that I ran a red light that I did not even see till I was on top of it. Scared me to death. We missed our cut off because of the fog and it put us behind just enough to miss everybody. The lady at the gas station said she had seen the cars go by earlier.

Running the Dragon and Cherohala this past weekend was the 2nd most exciting thing I have done with the car. Road Coursing it of course is #1. We really need to try and make this an annual event. End of April, not cold and not hot, is perfect.
