2007 Stage 2 dyno'd today

Hi Gang

Had the car dyno tuned today
Base Run - 263 RWHP

BBK CAI, BBK TB added - 274.8 RWHP and running very lean

Tuner used the Diablosport Predator U7145
Update # 8R05 + a few tweeks of his own

Final numbers
Chevron 92 Octane custom street tune
289.2 - RWHP
316 - Torque

Car feels like it has been freed up, not that the car was slow but acceleration feels a lot quicker now.

If you figure in 15% drive train loss thats 333hp at the crank. 15% is what my dyno guy said to figure for the s197s and what most are going by.

This is fun...

so what calculation do you use?....and let's just assume 15% for arguments sake

289 x 1.85 = 332.35

If you work this the other way....

332.35 - 15% nets you 282.49

Another method I have seen being used is similar to a retail margin calculation:

289 / .85 = 340

If you work this backwards

340 - 15% nets you 289

In this calculation if you want a HIGHER flywheel number you INCREASE the drivetrain loss..if you were so inclined to do so..an example would be:

289 / .80 = 361.25 (20% drivetrain loss)

So, I will ask again...because I don't know....What is the acceptable formula for this calculation?

this is what ive seen mostly used, assuming 15%

bhp * .85 = rwhp

OR

rwhp/.85 = bhp

Didnt give me a calculator.... I have just been multuplying rear wheel hp times .15%, so 289 * .15 = 43----289+43 = 332hp that is how I got my final #. I am not a math wiz and I know there are many other ways that people come up with crank power. I just saw that someone said that he had around 320 hp at the crank and I thought that was really an underated and low # for 290 at the wheels... but anyways... great #'s.... love the color!!!

OH PS... 15% is a standard Drivetrain loss for a manual.... for an Automatic it is a 20%standard drivetrain loss.

if you dont have a calculator... easiest thing to do is make it simple... take %10 of the rwhp, the cut that in half. add the half and the %10 together... then total that number with the rwhp i.e(289 %10 = 28.9 / 2 = 14.45 + 28.9 = 43.35 + 289 = 332.35) sounds long but when you do it in your head its quite simple and quick.
