Thumbs up 1st test & tune

I took the Roush out last night for a little flogging during the street drags at PIR. I've never been a fan of PIR but the track conditions suited the stock BFG's pretty good. I made 4 passes about an 1 hour a part to allow for cool down. I went for broke on the final pass in hope of reaching into the 20's but lost just a little traction on the launch. If only it would have held???

60'........1/8.....1000'........1/4...........MPH
2.03.......8.63 .....11.21.......13.408......102.73
2.02.......8.61......11.20.......13.402......102.43
2.01.......8.55......11.12.......13.314......102.99
2.02.......8.56......11.13.......13.332......102.47

You got to love an Auto trans for consistancy-
I had a lot of fun humiliating a few newer Mustang GT stick cars- it brought back my glory days of old- check out the reaction time below car #199D

Even thou I got a .001 last night, Diane still won't let it go that she cut a perfect .000 in her V6 T-bird she had many moons ago.

But right now I have low ET in her car (she'll be taking the wheel at the next event we go to)

We're looking forward to some good racing in August at the N/W ROUSH GTG. I've worked a Roush specific lane into the event that way we don't spend our time waiting in the stage lanes. Instead we can be chill'in with our lemonade in the shade at the ROUSH corral until they call us to our lane . Should be fun!!!

Elevation at PIR is maybe 200 ft. I was refering to the stock and semi modded s197's off the street that I was toying with. Not to make any excuses but it was fun to just drive the car in and blast down the 1320 without any prepartion for racing (besides reducing the rear tire pressure). The car of course could be a .10 or two faster if we set it up in drag trim.

There is a black 05 GT stick car that races here on a regular basis, turning 13.00 flat but it also has narrower front tires, drag radials and better suspension for weight transfer.

I say you stick with the mods on your car till you break 12.99 THEN BLOW THE B@#$H

I would installed a S/C but this is Diane's daily driver and not my car. I've done my time (12yrs) bracket racing in a weekly series, but now days I enjoy taking my current garage queen ('01 Bullitt) Open Tracking. I enjoy perfecting the skill of all round performance driving (corners and straight aways) that the road course brings.

Then: 4 bracket titles in 12 years - 12.40's / 428cj powered '67 Fairlane

Now: Yee ha driving

im

im not doubting your driving abilitys or any such thing. actuly congrates on the impressive drving record. But i am saying that it is possible with the mods you have to break out of the 13's and hit 12's and i think ya should blow the car anyway... besides if you where realy worried about keeping the car as DD you wouldnt have added the gears

OH FYI. where in VAncover do ya reside?
