First Time Dyno Numbers..

Had some work done yesterday at Joe Heck Racing / Big Daddy Performance. While there had it dynoed...I was pleasently suprised along with the dyno fellow at the results...This is just the Roush Small pulley and Roush tune done in August of 2007.
If in NJ, this place is a great shop, great people. Very clean, professional; everything you would want in a shop.

First Run
409.74 RWHP
390.81RWTQ

Second Run
415.48 RWHP
388.82 RWTQ

First is the graph, second is the enviroment (Temp, pressure etc)readings

Thanks, I just didn't expect it to be that high.

The butt dyno definately did feel the difference from day one after the pulley and tune...I'm going back in the early - mid summer to see if the numbers change much due to the weather.

For now, it's parked, covered up, thanks to the lovely weather we are having here in nyc/north jersey....booo!!!!!!

i am actually very shocked at those numbers! when roush was at our dealership with their dyno, dynoing their cars, we did not see anything over 364 RWHP, and that came from a 427. i attribute the sometimes high numbers to cold weather and the fact that some dynos read different.

again great numbers and congrats, i would be interested in seeing your car on the dyno again when it is warm out, just for curiosity reasons.

temp is somewhat overated, granted you make more H.P when cool.
but the fact is for every 10 Degs IAT over ambiant, you only lose 1 H.P
Still great numbers tho.

What model Dynojet do they use? If its the new one they can make adjustments and change some variables which will effect your #'s....BUT if its the same old dynojet that most use you really cant make any adjustmants...your #s are what they are.

Yeah, I agree those are great numbers with what you say you have done to the car. Haven't heard of any S3 putting that to the ground unless it had other mods. I would have expected somewhere in the 370-380 range.

Bring it to TX! Cold here, yes; snow, none.

Nice numbers. Was it a Mustang Dyno or Dynojet?

I don't know about the number ratings on a 427, but I can tell you it wants to get sideways in the cold temps.

Traditionally, out of a group of a dozen or so of the same year model cars, one or two are going to be "sweeter" than the others. That is, a little more powerful and responsive, often referred to as a "Factory Freak".

What does that equate to at the fly wheel? Nice, I have been saying the later Stage 3/427R/428R motors make a lot more power than the 435 on our underhood plates. What other mods did you do? Congrats!!

Wow. I don't want to dog your #'s But With just a pully change and a Upgrade tune. I think that dyno Needs some recalibration.........
I have a 08 Trak pak with small pully, off road mufflers and i hit 388 rwhp on a dyno jet the same one i took the beast too....
With all the mods i did to that, I was at 430 Rwhp.....

I think the fly wheel horse power estimate can be anywhere from 18% to 25%higher than the rear wheel horse power figures because of drive train loss, so different types of vehicles will have different percentages.

What There's no way to have a 25% More power, the fuel pumps and injectors can not support that H/P. I had to install a GT500 fuel pump and 60 lb injectors to get the fuel pressure right for 487 (EST) Fwhp
Fact, Not fiction. Roush Themselves say they are maxed out with the 427R and upgrade pulley for the fuel system

I'll second the fuel issue. I talked to some one at Roush about a cone filter/tube upgrade, he said what rondawg0410 just said. He did say that they have a cone filter/tube in R&D but you would need a fuel pump for any more mods to the 427R/428R cars as they had maxed the fuel system out with the 445 hp blower, he also said that it would be an expensive mod with either a GT 40 pump or GT500 pump for just 20 hp.

thats interesting, when I had my st 3 fuel pump replaced, I called roush direct
was told the GT pump is good to 500 H.P, never any more issues.
do you have any documentation as to what Roush themselves said? about being maxed out for the fuel system, pls post it up.

12-15% drivetrain loss for standard 5 speeds..... 17-20% drivetrain loss for automatics... at least thats what most tuners are saying. Dont know where your getting the 25%...thats just insane But arent we all?
