Performance Driving Program in Phoenix Arizona

You want to go FAST without worrying about a ticket? You want to drive YOUR Roush on a RACE TRACK ROAD COURSE? Read on…

rondawg and myself have signed up for a Performance Driving Program (PDP) on February 9th to be run at Firebird International Raceway. The program is put on by Professional AutoSports Inc. which holds weekend driving and racing events pretty much monthly. This program is for those of us who want to run your car on a race track road course at speed without getting a ticket. This is a driving program and is not racing, a timed trail or an exhibition, so most insurance companies will cover you (although you should check to be sure). Safety is foremost…

Here are some details but check with Pro AutoSports for the whole scoop…

    - Annual membership (calendar year) $40.00

    - PDP New Member Orientation $150.00 ($135.00 if registered one week in advance)

    - This is a one day class, including 2-3 classroom sessions and 3-4 on-track sessions.

    - After you go through the New Member Orientation and get your license, you can run a day’s event for $140.00 (minus 15% discount for early registration)

    - The Feb weekend event is on the Firebird “main track” which included the drag strip, some ½ mile plus straightaway (without a speed limit , WooHoo…)

So if you want to have some fun, come out and join us. It would be great to see a couple more Roush's out there...

I might come out to get some good pictures. I sold my Roush last summer and have not replaced it yet. I dont think the wife would want me out shredding in her Saleen or her Beetle convertible

Ah, bring out the Saleen. No shredding necessary. Go your own pace and have fun. Remember, this is not racing, just enjoying learning a few driving techniques that will help us be safer drivers and getting a change to run it up through the gears without looking over your shoulder for flasing lights...

I plan to be out there. Not with a car, but a camera. It seems like a great opportunity to get some pictures of Roush Mustangs ripping it up on the road course!

Awesome!! To bad I live on the other side of the country....

But on another note, I did the HPDE (High Performace Driving Education) classes up at Mid-Ohio Raceway and I can tell you that this stuff is a blast. IF you think drag racing is awesome... wait until you take corners at 90+ mph!!! I am gonna try and make it back up there this year, but their HPDE classes are crazy expensive!!

I hope you can do a few more of these, I can't make it on the 9th. But I would drive from Vegas for a track day. I have done two in my old 98 GT and they are FUN, FUN FUN. I need to get the Roush out and stretch her legs... legally.

Keep us posted on any other events.

The first classroom session starts at 8:00am (three I think) and there are four 20 minute track sessions throughout the day. See sample schedule.
