Tried posting this in mechanical but that's a ghost town.

I found something that might be useful for passing emissions without screwing around with guesswork. If you have used the SCT software lately, you'll know there was a new release called "LiveLink-Gen II" and also a new version of SCT Device Updater. My X3 had revision 129, and the latest is 155! So, I went through the process of returning car to stock and updated the firmware of my X3 so I could datalog with the latest software. The new software is nice. It has a Guide feature that will take you step by step to do a datalog.

Well, with engine running, the software downloaded all the codes off the PCM, and I found one that I hadn't seen before: "OBDII TESTS COMPLETE". Mine shows a value of 16.0. But I know this isn't complete yet because my car didn't pass emissions again. There must be some more checks that have to tick off. Does anyone know how many total should show up here to tell you when you are ready for emissions? I know the car has got to be close after putting 100 miles on it without a CEL.

It begs for further testing... This will be extremely helpful in the future if we can figure out what value is expected here when the OBDII is happy. No more driving around town wasting gas to make sure the GD tests are complete.

I have been modding my 2005 Roush Stage 2 since I bought it brand new in April of 2005.
Decided to go back to stock because how few of this year there are.
Many have claimed they have a 2005 Stage 2 but after lots of research working with Roush and others we have found 25 are true factory Stage 2's and 5 are dealer demos.
Since 2005 parts of these mustangs have been sold, so out there are alot of "Foush Mustangs".
All are very cool mustangs dont get me wrong.
So I decieded to take a few new photo's of a factory built 2005 Roush Mustang Stage 2
(without looking to close it appears stock). ;)
Enjoy :usa:

Took possession of my car late tonight after what seems like a year of impatient waiting.
Wouldn't you know as soon as we unloaded, it started to rain, so the car is dirty and I'll have to wash it before I post up some pics.
Anyway, I put a few miles on her after the light shower on damp roads. Traction was better than expected, I never scared myself to death, and mostly kept her pointed in the right direction. As far as LL seat of the pants evaluation of those 599rwhp ponies:
THIS CAR IS BUTT-CLINCHING, THROW YOU BACK IN THE SEAT, GET GONE IN A HURRY FAST!!!:o:bang::bang::bang:
It also has a more aggressive sound than the other Roush's I have had and is drop dead gorgeous. The metallic paint in the sun is dazzling (just like Wayne said).
I am very busy right now, but I wish I had time to properly break the car in (insert a big AutoXRacer SIGH!), but I guess I will have to be patient and enjoy my DD, a 6430 John Deere, until I get caught up on this farm work.:)
Sleep tight fnsweet, but I will probably be drivin' twisties in my dreams!

Hello to all. So here is my issue. I have a 03 Stage 3 Mineral Gray Jack Roush Classic with exhaust that exits out the rear. The front bumper is trashed From the last owner which means I am stuck with replacing it. With that being said I am looking at either the cobra or staying with the Factory Bumper. But am literally torn 50/50 on this.

Stage 3 Bumper:
Keep it org
Maybe help with Value
More Expensive to Replace

Cobra:
Personal Favorite choice with how the lines are
Cheaper to use replacement
Might Hurt the Value of the Stage 3?

This is obviously not a life or death situation but thought i would see what everyone elses options are.:bang:

Thanks,

I've got the Roush LCA's with the BMR relocation brackets. For those of you that have this setup, where did you run the e-brake cable? When I installed the brackets it seemed like there might be little strain on the cable if the cable was run through the hole in the LCA so I didn't run it through the hole. Just wondering what others have done.

For model year 2008, there were only 49 Roush 427R cars produced in the Performance White/ Blue Accent color combination. The rarity of this car is as impressive as the performance and its condition.
I am retired military and an older driver as well as the second owner. Over my 32 months of ownership & care of this car, I have happily added 5K easy miles on the odometer. I believe my price is lower than most, but this is is not a hardship, divorce or moving sale, nor is this car anything short of beautiful. It's nothing more than a garage space issue, when our 2 UNC students are home from school.
Car is also listed in AutoTrader.com. Photos to follow when can reduce the file size so they will be accepted on this site.

So...

I hated the GT hood with the fake Roush hood scoop. That is the same reason the side of my car does not have side scoops - I think they look cool, but I don't want fake stuff strapped on there. Now if they had vents to cool the rear brakes that would be a different animal...

I say "hated" because in December I picked up a TruFiber 3" cowl hood. At first I was shocked by it...3" doesn't sound like much, but it seriously impedes forward visibility.

I rattle-canned it flat black on the advice of my painter to help it absorb heat and fully cure the resins - I guess painting a fiberglass hood that isn't fully cured can lead to paint issues down the road:

Installing it required some minor tweaks...a slight adjustment of the passenger side fender and some very thin 1/16" shims under the DS hood hinge. I mounted some Scott Drake hood pins in the bump-stop locations along with some plastic bushings that I ground down to the proper height and some rubber grommets for soft bump-stops.

That, of course, was after I welded stainless washers into the bump-stop locations so as to get the perfect diameter for the hood pins so they could not "move around a bit" since I am such a perfectionist:

Since I got it all mocked up, I have been torn with how to proceed paint-wise...I have been wanting to keep stripes...but I can't decide whether to go vinyl or painted. Painted is what I really want. I got used to the 3" cowl visibility...now it seems normal to me...and it looks so nasty and angry. I love it.

With some Eleanor style fog lights to complement the look:

On to the next chapter in my quest...when I started looking at the cost of painting (~ $1500 for painted stripes and a painted show-quality underside), I had to ask my myself if this hood is the one I REALLY wanted...since paintwork costs more than the hood itself...

So this morning I said "screw it" and ordered the hood I wish I had bought in the first place - the same thing in carbon fiber from the carbon fiber division of TruFiber known as "TruCarbon":

My plan at this point is to leave the underside carbon fiber for sure, and then I have many options on the top side:

1) Get the top painted torch red to match my car, leaving the carbon fiber exposed in the stripe area (The whole thing cleared so there are no seams and I can polish / wax easily).

2) Leave the whole hood carbon fiber, and add painted or vinyl black stripes (Clearcoated, yadda yadda)

3) Leave it carbon fiber, and delete all stripes from the car.

4) Leave it carbon fiber and add hockey stripes to the sides.

Thoughts?

I value your opinions...so I am posting a poll.
