  • Replacing the turn signals

    #1
I did a search but cant find my answer. Are the orange lens turn signals on a Roush the same as the factory OEM turn signals? I want to change the ugly orange lens signals to some clear ones, but I'm not sure if the Roush and OEM are the same. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yep - they are identical. I changed mine out to clear ones, and put amber bulbs in so it is still "legal". (Pay no attention to my avatar picture - that was taken a few years ago) I can take pictures if you want so you can see how they look.

Bought and installed GT ones from American Muscle awhile back. Perfect fit and works as intended. You will have to take your front tires off to install them.. just prepare mentally for it and its all good. (Maybe.. I have 20" rims so if you have 18's, you may have more clearance.)

Don't have to pull the tires. Just turn them so they are out of the way.

I tried that.. fought it for about 30 minutes and caved in and pulled my tires..lol The opposite end hits the tire on 20's when you are angling into that clip hole on the far end of the light. Can't get it back far enough to get it in there.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I'm glad to hear they are the same. Going to order some up.... I'll get the rear clear marker lens at the same time. Do you have to run a colored bulb in the new lens or just use the same clear bulbs? I'll post some pics when all is said and done.

Pretty sure you'll need colored bulbs.

Are you also going to do the rear marker lights in clear? That would look pretty sweet too, with red/yellow bulbs for legal/safety reasons of course.

I got smoked lenses off of ebay for 28 dollars for the front and 32 for the rear sides. (dont ask me why the fronts were more) They fit and look great.

I got my clear lens installed yesterday. I got a set that included both fronts and both rears. Everything installed smooth and easy. Heres a couple pics, let me know what you think:

Isn't it amazing that a simple small plastic piece can make that much of a difference? It went from an eyesore to a perfectly blended setup that looks 100 times better.
