Yep, I saw this earlier this week. I think I'm going to ask for the White Edition and add on the wifi remote for xmas. I'd like to go for the Black edition, but I didn't see that much of a difference to justify the extra $120 just to film my dopy driving.

smart idea! I just need the remote to turn on and off! tired of seeing my face in the video all bent over trying to see if its on or not! lol but you have to look at the frame rate in 1080p 60 frames a sec vs 30... talk about smooth... might make my bad driving actually look good!![]()

So I have the:
- GoPro Hero
- GoPro HD
- GoPro Hero2 HD
Anyone want to buy any of these
I guess there is a three in my future. I am doing a track day on Sunday ... it would be nice to have!
I don't understand why GoPro 3 (Black Edition) would have 4K/2.7K because 99% of the people on this planet don't have the right processing power or software to edit 4K/2.5K footage. I suspect this is nothing more then a sales gimmick (like videocamera taking pictures) because the sensor on the GoPro is horrible. Unfortunetly if you want 1080/60 frame, you will have to poney up an extra $100 for the Black Edition, GoPro should have used that extra $100 and come up with a better faster sensor, better lens, even 120fps @1080. Warning about the GoPro Promo footages, they look damn good because they spent $$$ to set up their shoots with proper lighting, converting their footages for color correction, and post production. To this day, I'v haven't seen a single video from friends with GoPro that 's anywhere 40% close to what GoPro has showned.
Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with their experience!

4K/2.7K is used 100% for color correction due to the amount of information per pixel, most people think 4K is used mostly for resolution, almost four times 1080, while its somewhat true, the human eye will not see the difference and there's no consumer TV for 4k. If you ever watched "Justified", "Louie", "Blue Blood, "Leverage" "Chasing Maverick", all the current "Resident Evil" movies, "Promethius", "The Amazing Spider-Man", etc.. the colors and saturation on these movies and tv shows are beautiful and 100% of that is they were shot on a 4K full frame sensor for color correction. Which brings me back to GoPro 4K and can you use your Mac, for me, the selling point is 1080/60fps. You will need a minimum of 16g ram, a powerful graphics card that can render 4K, at least an Nvidia Quadro (starting@$700) and tons and tons of hard drive space because due to the amount of information encoded into the footage. iMovie will not cut it, you will need Final Cut Pro, BUT with Final Cut Pro, you will need TWO Nvidia Quadro. The one editing software made for 4k is Davinci Resolve, then again, its around $25K. Which goes back to my first point, why have 4K when 99% of the people can't take advantage of it.

Ha ha ha ... I think I need more hampsters.
I put one on the back of the car and one on the roll bar. It is not good to mount it on the trunk. It gets too much vibration. I am going to be doing NJMP Thunderbolt track on Sunday. I am planning on using two of them at once and then editing them into one video. (Pic in Pic) Scarface has been my go to guy on editing. (Thx buddy)The non hd camera is in my daughters hands. She uses it for skiing and messing around. But maybe I could point it at me?
I would take the white edition and save $200 if you don't need super slo-mo with 60fps vs. 30fps. Now with 1080/30fps, you can convert that 30fps into 60fps easily through various software. The people that will need 60fps are skaters, cliff jumpers, showing them getting some air in slo-mo but if gonna mount that inside your car or on your car, you don't need slo-mo because it doesn't look good. If you are drifting and you have somebody outside holding the GoPro then yes slo-mo.
