In our body styles, 99-04, i'll take the Roush. Now if you give a fox body saleen, now you're talking. As far as resale, you got a point.

I like the Saleen Mustangs too dont get me wrong. When I was shopping for mine, I preferred the Roush engineering. To me Roush goes that extra step in developing the car. I think the New Edge Saleen cars have outstanding looks and I also love the Saleen wheel, enough that I have considered a set recently. A Mustang is a Mustang to me, I won't throw mud in the face of any of them.

When it came to "performance" Mustangs...back in the day Saleen was IT...I LOVE the Fox body Saleens...not so much after that. My JRC....now THIS a car! How does the ad go...between a RACE car and a Road car..is a ROUSH car. Here's a pic of me at the track in a Saleen...shhhhh don't tell Jack..ok

Based on what criteria...? Looks, performance, handling, resale, engineering, reliability, HP??? You can't just throw that broad statement out there like that...too vague....I think we all should have bought Ford GT's!!

( Now like they say in the TV ad....GET A ROPE!)

Funny, but I was just thinking yesterday that I almost wish I had never purchased the Roush. I wanted to keep it for my play car for many, many years. I never even thought of the possibility that Roush would discontinue offering replacement parts (floor mats, etc...) so early. I can only imagine how hard parts are going to be to find in 10 years as some are already hard to find today. I guess I could always spend another couple of grand and buy replacement parts while available (Stage 3 body kit among other items) and then store them for God knows how many years.....

With that said, I don't think a Saleen would be any different for me!

Yes, I am still mad that my AC is broke. The car went to the shop this morning to get repaired.

But, as far as what criteria am I judging the Roush against the Saleen? I have noticed that if you take any equivalent model of the Saleen and Roush and compare them to each other, Saleen comes out on top! Saleen does the suspension better. Saleen has more horsepower. Saleen has a much better look as far as the body kits they use. And yes, they are a little more expensive.

Take for instance a Roush 427R. We all know how much they cost and we all know how much horsepower they have. Roush had to supercharge the car to get the horsepower (Bolt on horsepower). Now take the Saleen/Pernelli Jones Mustang. 400 horsepower with no supercharger... Saleen pulls the engines on the new Mustangs and goes through them, Roush does not! Yeah, Saleen are more money, but I believe they are still built much better than Roush Mustangs are.

Not the 99-04s, Muscle Mustang and 5.0 Fords did a comparison (Stage 3 vs. Supercharged Saleen), and the Roush came out on top.
Plus the 05+ Saleens rear end is really freakin ugly. I'd take a New Roush over a new Saleen (P51 > Parnelli any day).

I do not believe the Saleen suspension outhandles the Roush! Especially the S197's...The New Edge Saleens are definitely NOT better looking than the Roush! Man you are warped! LOL...They are just better known...Side exit exhaust wins hands down for Roush!

The body kit on the S197 Saleens really sucks in comparison front back & sides! Even my wife who knows nothing about Mustangs thinks they are too plain & boring.

Are you going by the published HP ratings in your comparo? Remember Saleen uses Shetland Ponies for theirs...not as powerful as the full sized ones in the Roushii.. Ask Shay about the superior output of their superchargers! LOL...R come before S always!

(I think we are going to need a bigger ROPE!)

New Edge Saleens look like TRANSFORMERS...side by side....Roush comes out on top...and like Walt..i doubt the Saleen can out handle the Roush...but thats just my opinion

Sometimes I likea the look of the 99-04 Saleen exterior better but hands down Roush is the way to go. Most Saleens are lemons...and we have pounded the Princess (road racing, drag racing, open circle track and drove it from NC to FL to MI and never had any troubles (well except for the tranny and that wa smy fault when it hooked) ROUSH ALL THE WAY!!!

Yeah the new Saleen rear end is super ugly, so plain. In the 99-04 style to me the side exhaust is what sold me, no better looking Mustang period.
