427R w/o side stripe

Interesting...I have not seen one w/o the hockey stick! I like the stripe it's part of the reason I bought mine.

eBay Motors: Ford : Mustang (item 160275368724 end time Sep-01-08 19:05:15 PDT)

Not sure I like this one. I really think that the hockey stick sets the 427 apart from the rest of the Roush cars. This way to me it just looks like a Roush that hasn't gotten finished yet.

Hummm guess you can pick your color of stripes.
Car checks out under Roush Vin search. It was sold in CA.
I kind of like that you could add your own color stripes.
Hey DayZee could even add pink strpes for her.

There's a fnsweet member that has done the same. No stripes. You can't tell what it is without looking at the engine badge. Most people don't even know what the engine serialized data plates means until you explain it so once you change the look of the car its a mystery and the 427R side strips have struck up more then one nice conversation at a car show or out cruisin. I'm glad the hockey stripes are on there. It sets itself off as different from the other models and isn't that what many people talk about.

I'm probably the guy your talking about! To me, the side stripes look like the old 69-70 Boss Mustang stripes. I didn't like them then and I don't like them now! What I installed was a pair of 68 427 Mustang Emblems on the hood scoop (Old School) and that does get a lot of attention!!!! Another reason I had the stripes removed was Roush wouldn't install Black stripes on our car at the time and the white ones stuck out like a soar thumb!! I'm happy having 1 of 17 07-Torch Red 427R Roush Convertibles even without the stripes! The windshield (ROUSH) decal says it all along with having the Off-Road rear fascia and square off road exhaust tips installed before we took delivery of the car from the dealer!

Well you did a nice job converting your 427R convert and it looks good and you may have already explained this but why didn't you just buy a Stage 3 without stripes and put 427 badges on it. You wouldn't have had to alter some much on such a rare car?

Here's one with the black stripes you wanted.

I have to admit the white stripes just don't mix as well with the black convert top as the black stripes do. IMHO

Note: I just noticed that the White strip convert pic has a Stage 3 rear fascia? Is that your car before you had the stripes removed? I don't know where I got that pic. If not, somebody else with a 427R convert did the same thing as you.

427R w/o side stripe

That could be our car before the stripe were taken off but it would to have been either at CarFX in Tulsa or at Joe Cooper Ford in Tulsa! I've always been a big block 427 FE man and if I could have gotten Roush to install a Small block 427 in the car , I would have but they said they (Roush) just built a 427R one way and would not change!!! My wife and I love the car! I've even got the local POPO & Sheriff's cars wanting to street race but what happen's when I blow there doors off!!! The lights come on???? Better safe than sorry!!!
And I really like having the extended 55 Thousand mile warranty on the old girl!
Our sales person at Joe Cooper didn't know that much about all the options for the car nor did he know that we could have ordered a Torch Red Stage 3 Vert! We had order white face gauges on our car but Roush forgot to install them and when we tried to get them installed later, the dealer told us that they couldn't be installed once it left Roush, because the wiring harness would have to be changed and Roush didn't want to pay for that. We did get our money back for the gauges ,from Joe Cooper!
More Mods to come,I hope!
