Paint Overcoat
Question....We went to a dealer to have some mods done and they showed us "what they call" a protective overcoat sealant. I believe it's called Xylon
 They gave us an example of how it'll repel paint and supposed chips, it did actually repel the spray paint that I put on it, wiped it right off with normal water after the paint was done drying. They also stated that you would NEVER need to wax your car again all you had to do is wash and dry. Anyone have any experience with this......or is the dealership giving me a ration of s@#t. They also stated that you would get a continual gloss out of the look of the girl....from the truck I seen I'm not sure what to believe........please give comments or info on this.  P.S......They're willing to warranty it for 5 years, and they say it takes 1-2 days to apply?

We sell this at the dealership i work for,and i too saw the paint trick.It is amazing for sure,but is a scam.They use a very small bottle of solution,on everything but the tires and warranty it for 5 yrs,and sell it for $500.00 plus.The guys from the xylon co,come in for an hour or so and show the detailers how to apply it.Do you really think a detailer cares if it goes on correctly or not,trust me i have worked in 3 dealerships in the last 24 yrs and they dont care.I have seen many a protection scams like this.But it does loose the shine we all love to see on our rides.Hope this helps,i would personaly run away.On a side note it covers lovebug damage no questions asked.If you live in lovebug country,that is the only thing it is good for,the warranty.

Saw this stuff on a video at a Ford Dealer. Don't waste your money and buy a
good car wax that is non abrasive.

My son in law was falling for that & the undercoating & the fabric protection...on his new truck until I kicked him...$2780 for all three!!! I guess they get enough suckers to make it worthwhile...?
