09-02-08: The Joliet Area Historical Museum is selling raffle tickets to win a 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible or $25,000 cash! Which one would you rather have? Ahem, that is not all. In addition this raffle also has five $1,000 cash second prizes. Unusual for many car raffles.



Just south-west of Chicago, the non-profit Joliet Area Historical Museum includes exhibits such as “The Route 66 Experience,” which celebrates the legendary Route 66 and its mythical American roadside culture. The raffle fundraiser is to help them continue their mission of passing along our rich automotive history to generations to come.



Tickets are available at Joliet Historical Museum, in the Museum Gift Shop at 204 N. Ottawa Street, Joliet, Illinois or by phone: 815-723-5201 ex.224. The cost of the raffle tickets is $35.each. Odds are pretty good too with only 3500 tickets to be sold.

You wont have to wait forever to find out if you are a winner. The raffle is just about a month away, to be held on October 4, 2008. So don’t wait, get those tickets now. Winners need not be present to win.

I went to buy tickets at the Volo Shelby Show last week and they didn't have a way to do it on line at that time. Or at least the people selling the tickets didn't know how to do it. They werfe taking CC numbers and putting them on an order form and then into a file folder. I just did not feel all warm and fuzzy about that process.
