Roush Focus

Went to Thoroughbred Ford in KC today and they had a whole fleet of Roush Foci on their lot. I thought they looked a lot better in person than they do in pics. However, my fiance still gave them a very big thumbs down.

Got me to wondering how Roush Focus owners will be welcomed by the rest of the Roush family? Will they be welcomed with open arms or will there be some negativity? I haven't seen any new Focus owners on this site so I haven't been able to gauge a reaction yet. I thought they should be welcomed in; fiance thought they should be banned. Your thoughts?

All depends...

I think it's a halfway cool idea... but unfortunately I think a large target audience is the "ricer" community, and that is where I think we should draw the bridge and fill up the moat and release the deadly fish and gators...

BTW, they had a Coddington on their lot as well. According to their website, it's priced to sell at $99,999

Its a Roush and this is a Roush dedicated site. The new owners share a common interest with me and the others here and that is Roush along with a passion for performance vehicles. Either way I could care less what some dork thinks is rice or not. Its mine not theirs and if I like it thats what matters. Sometimes I want to put some so called rice on my car just so someone will say something to me.

To me, a Roush is a Roush... 150, Focus or Cougar... as well as Mustang. I can't get the people I have to answer to to order one. I don't think the design is as good as the Saleen, but I do like the fact that the car is performing better n/a than the Saleen n/a. The Saleen Focus that we have gets attention.. but once people hear that the activation of the bottle voids the warranty on the motor and tranny... they get turned off. So many people have sat in our N20, and moved the gearshift like they were driving, I had to re-attach the knob on the shifter.... Just a big play toy for customers that don't buy...

I think a far better move for Roush is what they are doing with the F-150. They have a package called the "Tejon" and it's the base package on the truck.. You pick up chrome 20's and tires, true dual exhaust, hood scoop if I remember right, and graphics... retail on the package is something like 4k... and really.. that's not too bad. Value in the package that improves the overall look and performance for the vehicle... I would love to order one.. I think that's something that will sell. Good to see that direction at Roush.

I think I counted 8 2004 Cobra coupes in stock yesterday, 2 2004 Cobra convertibles, and 2 2003 Cobra convertibles, then another 50 or so Mustangs in stock.. My mystic chrome coupe has been in stock for about 3 weeks and nobody has even asked about it... Things have just died all over... We are leading the city with something like 40 cars sold so far this month... scary.

Sum it up... I don't see the Roush Focus being a big seller... I think it will be like the cougar.. F-150... good move... Cobras all over the place.

Justin, if you put something "rice" on your car, I'd sure tell you about it.... However, what I was referring to.... is the "ricer" mentality, that mindstate that the little shitheads have.... watched that F'ING movie TOO many times... The cars? they actually look halfway ok I guess, nothing against them, nor their driver's, unless they turn out to be pimple faced little shits that end up here causing trouble and shitting in our litter box.

A Roush is a Roush.....It probably won't be a big seller like 2rvsperf said....but the more the Roush name gets out the better it will be for all of us!

I agree with what everyone has said. Roush=Roush.
There's also a fine line between the sport compact crowd and "ricers". I think it will sell to people who know what they're looking at. Similar to the SVT Focus. However, I hope it's not the next star of FF3. It sounds like a solid car.

Markass...Dont worry I will never put anything rice on my car, well what "I" think is rice. Also my retarded comment at the end was meant to be a joke not to look like an ass, should have put a smiley or LOL after it.

As for the Roush Focus, F-150, and Cougar they are all welcome in my book just dont see them selling too much. When I if I ever see one I will be pushing fnsweet and ROEA to them to make this family tree grow out and not just straight up.

Nah, I figured it wasnt all out of seriousness.

It'd be cool to have someone with the Roush Focus around... BUT... like I said before... just as long as their not a "ricer" with that mentality... SPOOLIN coming on here with a Focus isn't what everyone is wanting I'm sure... yes it adds spice and flavor to the mix, but still leaves a sour taste in your mouth and is only asking for trouble with that attitude.

And Justin... everything you've done to your car so far is "rice"!

j/k of course....

That's the only time I can remember a Roush vehicle being advertised on tv. I wonder if the public here will associate "Roush" more with the Focus or with the Mustang?

And if the Focus is more publicized... we will all be thought of as trying to be like the Roush Foci to the stupid and ignorant that have no idea that a Roush Mustang exists....

Actually, thats not true ( )

Its functional on a bone stock 03 Cobra... they used on a top speed test and they allowed the 03 Cobra to go 170 mph with new tires and a Cobra R wing..
