Traction Control Issue

Has anyone esle had a problem with their traction control locking up the breaks? I had a great friend assist when it broke down. He pulled the fuse. I took it to the dealer and they didn't put the fuse back and therefore, couldn't recreate the problem ( I wonder why?). My husband is going to test it himself this weekend. I just wanted to know if this is an issue others have encountered.

Looks like she 's been getting a lot of "shotgun troubleshooting" from the dealership. Does Ford have a tech support line to contact or does anyone have access to Ford TSB locators?

I know performance shops, Ramsey Performance, Coastal Dyno, RevXtreme, but not much luck on car repairs. Maybe Blue Oval Corral in Largo.

I replied in the other thread, but what size tires are you running?, 265 up front with 285 in the rear , WILL put traction control on at around 50 mph. you can diagnose this all day long it WILL NOT throw any codes because it is doing what it thinks is correct

The RPM ( Rev per mile ) which is based off the Overall diameter of the tire, the computer is reading the sensors and its seeing it as your tires are "breaking loose" or "spinning" and it will engage the TC

Tire width should have no effect on this.

Yeah but the tire diameter should be different. I would imagine that only the back tire is taking TC readings since it is the drive wheel.

If the widths are different and the diameter are the same then no problems.

I thought thats what i said , the Overall diameter or RPM ( Reveloutions per mile )

here was the OLD THREAD , this was the problem.

I still have the set of 285/30/18 KDW's , they still have the little rubber stringers on them, thats how quickly the problem developed before i took them off. ill sell them cheap 350.00 for the pair but dont say i didnt warn ya.

I'm running 265's on the front and 295's on the back and haven't had any issues yet.

I had the same problem when I got a flat on the front drivers side and had put on the fancy spare. I seemed ok at first but after driving for a while the tc would do what you described. A few days later my tire came in, put it on and problem went away. Been thinking about disabling it.

Thinking about that shouldn't that only apply if you go down in size diameter. since when you go down in diameter you get more revolutions per mile then it would trick the TC in to thinking it has "breaking loose" or "spinning" cuasing it to engage.
Just my opinion
