Clean out the idle air control and throttle body with some sort of carb cleaner. Make sure theres no carbon build up holding your throttle plate open. Run some seafoam too and see if that takes care of it. Or replace the IAC, I dont think they're that expensive
When I get out of gear and come to an idle, the revs sit at about 1100 and then once I come to a stop or a very slow roll they will drop down to 800 or so. I just got used to it... |

I started having an idle problem 3 years ago. It was staying @ 3500 before droping. Ford replaced an idle sensor & it worked about a year. It started again in January 06. They replaced an air sensor but did not fix it. I took it back & they cleaned & reset the idle stop & the idle sensor again. It worked about 6 months & 9 months later it still has been intermitten some days it's fine & some days it hangs @ 1500rpm then drops after a few seconds @ a stop sign.
I don't know what to think about it! I may take it to a tuner & see if it's in the computer program. Has anyone used Dallas Mustangs as a tuner?

Finally the right mechanic worked on the car & fixed it in 5 min. the linkage needed to be properly adjusted...fixed finally after 3 visits & a throttle body replacement.....
