So I just bought a BBK shorty H-pipe brand new and went to swap out the catted X-pipe already on the car.
Setup before install: BBK LT's, Hedman's Headers hi-flow catted X, spintech mufflers, roush side exit.
So I got the x-pipe off, layed it next to the h-pipe and saw the h-pipe was a bit shorter in length. However, I've always had problems getting both exhaust tips to line up so I figured maybe they'll line up with the midpipe being a little shorter.
Well once the h-pipe was bolted up to the headers there was about 5-6" in between the end of the h-pipe and the pipe coming from the muffler. This is really strange to me because the h-pipe is correct, it's for 99-02 GT's (mine is an 01) and the LT's are BBK as well which I thought would help with fitment issues.
The only thing I can think of is that when the person that had the car before me got the Hedman catted x-pipe installed, the people who installed it pushed the exhaust back some to allow it to fit.
If anyone has any advice or ideas, I'm open to anything. I will try and get some pictures in the next couple days if it would help.
Also if anyone has pictures of the stock Roush exhaust setup that would help so I could see if anything had been altered by the previous owner that I didn't notice.
thanks guys and gals
